  1. Picked this up a couple of months ago rare , in fine or so grade for issue but light damage Still very nice though
  2. I will not post the obverse as that beauty above is much better than mine anyway
  3. will email you next few days ok colin
  4. NICE COPPER 1821 TONED FOR THOOSE WHO PREFER A COIN WITH NO LUSTRE
  5. Hi there colin , could you tell me if this is a 1841 high 1 farthing please
  6. I remember back in the seventies buying George Iv pennies just the common dates mind at 50p to a £1 same with halfpennies - I think you would really struggle to get your money back even now on then - stitched up is the word , I think most dealers sold modern (under 40 years old) to suckers at vast profits. Only now do we now understand how common some off these coins are mainly to do with ebay provideing a level playing field. Another thought back then we never really understood just how common 1839 and 1853 farthings are as well , I would suspect that many a collector in the seventies would have known they were common , but not how common.
  7. If I remember rightly the 1868 proofs were issued in a set third farthing , farthing ,halfpenny and penny or was that the 1877 bronze set ? I am sure someone out there knows
  8. Well i sold my coin in 2007 for around £25 and yours is for sale for around £42 so i think it is priced about right , it should not sell too fast but it also should not "stick" at that price .
  9. WWWWWWWWooooooo just like miy old one that one - same grade as well - you did not happen to buy it in 2007 did you?
  10. I remember i had a 1865/3 halfpenny clear as a bell overdate - got sold years ago and the money reinvested in my collection , farthings probably Was a lovely coin in fine or so grade and very rare and underated it often goes six or eight months before one appears on ebay
  11. Nice coin , wish it was mine -reverse particularly good
  12. Looks a bit dodgy to me - it is very round and well centred for a coin of that age - also it is a much faked period - I certainly would have been very warey about paying much for it
  13. A proof will cost a pretty penny , looks like GEF to me obverse maybe a little marked but cannot see properly from that scan not big enough
  14. That coin itself does not look like a hammered coin it really is to good , hammered coins always are never perfect by definition , its too round and well centred
  15. MMMMMmmmmmmmdrools at that OH shilling!
  16. I disagee the widow head shilling is a fine coin!! Only a personal opinion though
  17. I think 1886 is easy to find - no surprise really. Coins in GEF + are seriously rare esp for the early dates Two shillings was a serious amount of money in victorian times and though a few hoards have been found the surply of these coins in good grade is seriously limited , you will need deep pockets to get even ten or fifteen coins , never mind the full sel. the 1849 godless florin is a good start though there are plenty around in higher grades
  18. GEF a very acceptable coin
  19. Not as easy as you might think but it can be done with a lot of looking - I whould say that you have to live in either London birmingham or yorkshire and be a regular in the coin fairs . Helps if you have a good eye as well .
