  3. It is worth trying verdicare.
  4. Stop that Stuart. I was polishing my car yesterday and Mrs Peter brought me a garden seat so my back would be OK.
  5. http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=185984 If you fancied a holiday in Aussie it would only cost you 14 bags of sugar.
  6. I've got a bag of 25 of these left(well small magnifiers with a light source) I sold 5 on Ebay so these are now all free to me.

    Hello

Welcome Russ Let us know what your main interests are. Peter
  8. I can see a market for a platinum sticker. please note we would not sticker any CGS100 grades. I would call my operation 'WITH WINGS' Unbelievable.
  9. They are the same dies surely. Reverse both have trident prongs to space Obverse both have the weak topping to the O in one penny.
  10. Dave Run through our thread we had.I still couldn't be sure. BTW the Coincraft book arrived yesterday. Brilliant,I have several 17th,18th and 19th century Irish coppers IOM 19C Irish hammered. I will be more confident on Scottish hammered now. I will be burning the midnight oil tonight. I noticed DNW had some Scottish hammered.
  11. I did see a raw 1865 1/4d in a LC auction .Beautiful lustred coin with an unfortunate nasty edge bump. It ended up in a CGS slab and the bump was covered up. Like Dave I would only get a Gothic florin or a Northumberland shilling graded as insurance. The replicas of these are brilliant. We have had threads and debates on these on this forum. Who are the three graders? I presume 3 dealers.I ask this because some dealers I would never buy from.
  12. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311037775909?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I've just ordered this
  13. Thanks Gents for info on Tripods Paulus yours is on offer in Jessops at £3.99 but isn't suitable for a DSLR.
  14. I would but usually the weekends are fully booked. We would only use it whilst on holiday.
  15. Maybe try looking for a table top tripod, John. Mine cost me abut £12. Declan Could you point me in the way of your table top tripod.? Will it take a DSLR or compact only.I have both with macro.? Thanx Peter
  16. If you don't know your subject....don't buy it. Books and internet is there as well as as this forum. Common sense should prevail. My pockets are not deep enough to buy crap.
  17. I will put my 40 years of collecting against any of the TPG grading companies. If you don't know your subject I think you are in the wrong game. Some muppet will charge me £30 for I know what I have is gauling. Look at some of the grading from the dealers on this site.Enough said. TPG's are a waste of air.FFS i didn't need to get my wife graded before I married her....although she was Aunc but a BU is probably a bit Ugggg
  18. ? No way but each to their own. I have a safe and I don't need some mug to tell me what I have. The graders probably have less experience in my field of buying.
  19. Worth bullion.Not a collectors piece.
  20. That coin is a credit to your collecting eye. It really can't get better and a keeper. (I still haven't located a few bits of foreign silver for you)
  21. Try a bit of verdicare or 100% accetone with a cotton bud. John is well respected. Enjoy the coin it looks great.
  22. My sister looked like kate Bush and Dad and I had big sticks to keep the likely lads away. I inherited the brains. She is still over 1m up away from me. Yep have to take mum shopping every week.Sis comes down twice a year. Mums sisters went to Aus and US leaving it to us.it. As soon as mum pops her clogs we are away. Sod my daughters.
  23. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiCRZLr9oRw A very important track for me and Mrs Peter. 24th aniversory on Monday. When you find a soul mate stick with it.
