Well said Bob Every one loves to up a grade. If you look at Spinks/Seaby coins from the 60's....well Spinks current book is for Full BU coins and not ebay NEF tat. Look at Robs coins and get a feel for grade. My eyes are failing but so are Mrs Peters as I snitch a few £50's out of her purse. I still tell her CM are INCHES...I do have a 25cm Johnson

For issue is a big problem for me.the US grading system is so wrong. William 111 copper and William and Mary is so hard to get in reasonable condition. Some of the early US coins are a shite.

There is a product called Verdicare. But hey I don't buy green coins.

Tell the seller to call them metal tokens.Over 300 years and it will be FOC. I've paid duty once and the bloody coin was over 300 years old...there is a time limit to reclaim.

Close 1915 TT was discovered in 1980 and (Coin Monthly)RIP i got mine from Ebay as well as my 2A . I was close on a 1874 g'S over but did get E over R 1856 and large date 1875 for peanuts.I do put my hours in(from Midland).My small date came from a token dealer. I gave my E over R to my youngest who clocked the error .....good girl....she will become a nummmmmmisttwat.....as Mrs Peter calls me.

Peter, you work for yourself. You can retire when you like. "Full" retirement here (USA) has gone from 65 to 67, although you can still get reduced retirement at 62. If you work past the full retirement age (67) you get a small increase for each year you work beyond retirement age. I worked till age 72, so I got a little bump for the extra 7 years I worked beyond retirement age. Constant moving goal posts here. I wanted to be a policeman when I left school. These,the fire services and teachers&civil servants certainly get a great deal.

Peter, you work for yourself. You can retire when you like. No I can't Getting the standard state pension with a top up from my pension pot (stopped paying into 2005) Won't keep us in clover. The state pension of about £100 a week being deferred for 3 years is rotten. I'm making other investment plans but I certainly can't retire for a while.

I don't have a spare!! But what I do have is the proof which is estimated to be at least 10 times as rare as the business strike, and which Colin Cooke didn't actually believe to exist, for a while. Not sure why you would want the currency example? Very scarce yes, but not compared to the proof. I still have difficulties with proofs although I have the 1953 set and a couple more. Circulation coins just give me more joy.

Good to see you on a "proper" UK forum. I was thinking of taking a cabinet space in the new antique centre in Debenham but I will give it a visit and see what it's like. I was going to go this afternoon and visit the new centre but the grape won. You need lots of reruns of Lovejoy to encourage people to visit - it seems very quiet around here, but I am at work in Ipswich most of the week so who knows.
