Happy collecting. Probably worth a few Bob. 6. New oven ordered delivery 16th Dec. Electrician sorted and good old Mum is helping with the cost. It will be the resting place of a 16lb capon on the 25th. Both of my daughters are working until about 5pm so it will be a seafood feast until they arrive home. Takeaway Pizza last night and micro chips with bacon//beans/egg tonight.. We do have a bread maker and the eldest is a sous chef who does a leek and spud soup to die for. My daughters arrived home with a bloody great Xmas tree...it is feeling Xmas bah humbug. The plan is to sell the main home and keep the bungalow on rent and buy in North North Norfolk. Boat / Shrimping and a freelancing bit looks good. The only trouble is my Mum....sister is oop North. My mothers sisters went to Aussie or US leaving us stuck in Suffolk. I admire Declan May be a Double deckecker for all of us in a nice Dorset location to concentrate on coins/publications. Don't forget you are dead for a long time..
  7. Thanks Badger it has gone on my Xmas list.
  8. Paulus I agree fully Thats where I have problems with 17C copper.
  9. Ebay has been a happy hunting ground for Indian coins.I just got 8 AU/UNC coppers for less than £6 delivered. The rupees have generally been less than £10 and similar to gothic florins IMO.
  10. I didn't marry her for cooking skills.
  11. I've picked up some rupees and understand there are many varieties. I also like the coppers but confess to being no expert.
  12. The temperature switch goes round and nothing happens. It is about 10 years old and gets a lot of use. Plus modern ovens are more efficient and easier to keep clean.
  13. Looks like an expensive weekend & takeaways become boring
  14. Many never make it out of there plush boxes whereas 3ds circulated heavily. My collection is nice back to 1900 then it became quite difficult getting Vickies in good condition.
  15. Belated greetings from me.
  16. Sometimes you get adjustment marks when the mint has used too much silver.I like history like this. The big chunky French coins 17/18 C springs to mind often scratched to remove surplus silver. The guy/gal who thought up the banknote did a fine job.Not many of those clipped. About **** years ago I did find half a fiver...my dad took it and gave me £2 10/- We feasted on Woodpecker Cider for weeks. It also reminds me of a local pub when the landlady would serve the oldest lad with 10 pints we must of been early teens. Jumpers for goal posts etc

Reading some posts on this forum while chewing on your dinner can prove to be a choking hazard You can always rely on Peter for a bit of off-topic entertainment! I think he should be a panellist on that brand new TV series 'Shock Factor'! The real scary thing is that through Peter's eyes, it's not off-topic at all... I'm a snickers man (marathon) Mrs Peter enjoys a nut in every bite
  18. My mother always gives me £ which I use on coins or coin related
  19. Scott I have Montagu,. I believe it is now online on google books.(FOC) Bramha,Batty and Montagu were condensed by Peck's work. (Pecks 2nd edition in 1970) I know Colin Cooke was working on a new farthing publication before his untimely death. Colin Goode (aboutfarthings)is working on a farthing publication but Peck's work is still the bible and most complete work on all cu denominations.
  20. How did I know this coin was going to be a wreath or a Northumberland? He/she dosen't even call it a Northumberland.
  21. It will be fake but probably a lower carot gold.

You will probably get stung for import duty when the coins are returned from the US.
  23. There was a shortage of circulating currency so traders minted their own tokens. At the same time the majority of copper coins were counterfeit.Especially in Scotland.
  24. Tokens fit into my collection. They grade like coins and are collectable in their own right.
  25. Spink prices are EF £1450 UNC £2850 So London Coins looks like the way to go. You could put a reserve on it. Good luck
