Penny Acquisition of the week
zookeeperz replied to Paulus's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
How much scarcer are these Pennies with the colon dots right on top of the G. I was looking on Michael Gouby's site and looking at the different Positions and trident orientations on the 1851-1859 Pennies and there isn't a picture of any with the colon dots virtually touching the G after REG .? thanks -

whilst we are here about 1966 finger penny sadly nothing to add at this time. but there is a Doubled Die 1967 penny with the left section of St A.C. cross missing and 3 lines on the exergue . only thing is the picture of the whole coin is in that safe place . But I shall track it down. But here are some close ups

Has anyone encountered these malicious redirects when clicking on items for sale on the bay? It is starting to really pee me off. it is a https so called secure site yet 6 times in the last hour clicking through various coins the page redirects to some other page and my malwarebytes kills the page and blocks the malware. Surely ebay is responsible for our safety seeing as it advertises as such Are they really that crap an outfit they need to now be closed down. Seems nobody is policing anything on there anymore? Tried to go through a contact procedure which as always is a loop back to where you started. very very close to closing my account with them they are just crooks.

Is the start of the reprisals ?
zookeeperz replied to secret santa's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
Could it be looking for coins to forge? Plus anyone using a VPN can appear to be in any country and still be local. The age of privacy only way to surf securely these days -
Hi chaps. Had this thing kicking around for a decade,I thought I would probably bump into whatever it was sooner rather than later and whilst it looks familiar to something from princely states coinage I can't find it and it is starting to really bug me. I have no idea on the symbols not like the islamic, hebrew or persian ones we are used to . Anyone have an idea what it is please so I can sleep again 5.9 gr 24.85 mm Thanks

Of course but I fear it will be a while. I honestly didn't believe it would be so hard . I mean I dare say the some shows might have them somewhere but I am restricted to what I see on the net which to be fair covers a huge % of smatter. Just these little buggers remain very elusive

I have looked again at this 1873 half penny and I am now convinced it is not reverse G and is the rarer type reverse I Incuse hemline and folds over the shield On this pic for identification purpose you can see the incuse lines and the cross lines are crude and misaligned. What do you say guru's?

1850 shilling discovered in a tin from my youth
zookeeperz replied to georgie's topic in TPG Discussions
I just thought it could forewarn those who have collections with them in to check them. Who knows how many of these have been passed off as real? Hopefully none. But yeah I see your point whilst 1 guy made £7000 selling fake kew's and continues to sell I guess it's just wishful thinking sadly -

yes defo a fake. I posted this on Ebays worse when I first saw them as I was gobsmacked how good they were. If we hadn't seen them all together in one sale I think he had 6 coins originally Many of those would of gone to unsuspecting buyers. At least we know now the characteristics of the fake coins. the thing that is of great concern the guy who posted about his 1850 shilling posted a year ago so how many are in collections? I think some announcement by an authority like the press is in order considering the value of this particular date? -

I wonder if he sold it way back then. More's the point I wonder who got mugged off with it lol -
Strange though all these change checker sites and the multitude of so called experts on rare decimal coinage don't mention it. Perhaps I should alert the daily mail lols
