  1. I was going to post that yesterday I thought it was suss. Got sidetracked but good spot . there are a few of those knocking around the sales
  2. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1922-Silver-Rupee-King-George-V-British-Raj-Indian-Coin-NGC-MS63-RARE/292454417712 Do you think NGC might of wrongly attributed this? Looks more like the PL restrike?
  3. defo struck on a foreign coin I just cant see it in my minds eye where to line anything up lol
  4. Well I think its been struck on a straits settlement 5 cent FWIW that is part of the gothic crown and resembles nothing on our threepence
  5. whats the gothic letter above her head to the right?
  6. I have scoured the Net and everyone I have seen has the same
  7. If it was O over sideways O logic would tell us the fat part would be where the thin line is surely?
  8. N? how did they come to that conclusion lol?
  9. I think that was a case of if you can see it you are a better judge than me picture lol ?
  10. 15956* 99% rating. Are we not safe anywhere now or is this a case of seller ignorance?
  11. 1870 Penny according to Mr Gouby date sub type D 12.5 teeth center of 1 to center of 0 (probably not seen) well now you have seen
  12. That is so funny he doesn't even know what his label stands for. PCCB professional coin supplies and professional coin display None really convincing wonder if the B stands for BS
  13. Damn did I miss Amanda . Oh well onwards and err onwards
  14. good idea but they we get the grey area of "oh i selected the wrong box" . Hard to prove but very easy to exploit to a certain degree . Habitual misuse would raise red flags but damage is done by then but I guess we need to start somewhere
  15. yes he is totally flouting with ebay's explicit description criteria. If it is a replica/fake it must be in the description. Putting a lowball price whilst yes should raise a red flag it does not cover the seller for his ambiguity and really at the end of the day does nothing to enhance his reputation.
  16. The Sun online blog nothing to do with the sun newsgroup always peddling false statements and half truths. Also I received an email from London coins touting the 2018 Issac newton 50 pence being the rarest 50 pence ever obviously sentence ended with the obligatory ? . These online bandit blogs and even to a certain degree the check your change website is so full of misleading information all the newbie collectors just try to climb over each other grabbing anything just in case it turns out to be rare. They are so dim witted they will even bid £50 for a copy kew knowing it is a copy.
  17. but where are they getting the Dies from. I know some of the commemoratives were struck from original dies. cannot remember which monarch it was for unless they are doing it again with Victoria? they just look too good to be made up dies?
  18. its just too good a copy. Things like this really worry me and probably our worse failing as coin makers during the early years there were so many mistakes and letter changes that unlike the yanks where they know exactly what came from where and when we just narrow it down to a few possibilities. This if listed not as a copy would of had loads of bidders and i dread to think what price it would of reached. Perhaps the blurred pic is doing the coin more justice than it would in the hand?
  19. I saw a video of some guy used I think 10k pennies and floored his kitchen with them lol
  20. yes its the scarcer reverse B on the 1946 English arms shilling
  21. Must go to the top of the list of the coin fugly contest
  22. you will need to expand to original listing but this is the link https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/job-lot-old-copper-and-bronze-coins-1806-1891-1897-/173013222929
  23. My room is very dark even in daylight plus the room light is over near the window opposite where I am. You would of thought when they built the bloody house they would put the light central? So I am stuck with 2 bendies with croc clips that attach to the copy stand. Problem is the coin is 3D and we are taking a 2D picture so we lose all the lustre and only get detail. I find it even worse with the camera. The amount of light you need would power a county to get good images lol. I paid £178 I think for a linder Digiscope and tbh it's garbage all the ones you see for sale on ebay are all the same £10-£200 rubbish. I need a stereoscope tbh but they are way out of my pay grade. Bad lighting compounds the issue esp looking for over-dates and repunches.
  24. This coin is impossible to photograph. Such is the unusual toning . I guess because it's just starting . Although I can clearly see the lustre the effect of the toning makes it look matt like in pictures and does no justice to the coin at all. here are 1945 Shilling scottish arms and scarcer D2121 1946 english arms
  25. Obviously harder to see obverses identical as pics were at different angles but notice the reverse both coins top being a known replica and that guys coin both have the broken 3 in the same place
