  1. More's the point what the bloody hell are Catwiki doing using sellers with less than 95% feedback rating. 83% I wouldn't accept anything from a seller with that rating even if they gave it for free. As for the Auctioneer and the valuations I think it is a case of looks like an XF thumb through the sales and put up average prices. Rather than an in depth scrutiny on condition and authenticity. I questioned one of their sales of a 1961 Irish Mule half crown as it wasn't but had no reply and sale went through so who knows what happens there. A lot of the postage costs are very unreasonable probably x3 what they should be whilst others are very good. But if they wish to keep the 7.9/10 trust pilot rating having sellers with 83% reputation will soon kick that down a few spots if they are not careful
  2. tell me about it 1961 mule Irish half crown came up 10 days ago meant to leave a token bid was EF . Did nothing as I forgot it sold for £4.12 gutted is an understatement
  3. I saw that one but didn't think obverse was too great may be just the picture just didn't like the dark patches. But it seems they were blighted by that on the half pennies perhaps a metal mix thing?
  4. there was another MS64 but twice the price and a MS66 penny that looked very nice but a tad expensive
  5. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Great-Britain-1-2-Penny-1806SOHO-3-BERRIES-REV-NGC-MS63-BN/222755652279 seems reasonable price ?
  6. Still reported the tool. I think it was a massive mistake to infringe copyright by trying to portray it as a PCGS slab. Foot note or no foot note everything above that skirted authenticity even saying commemorative silver. The only silver in that coin is the colour
  7. Yes in fact I would even go further and do not even go near ebay until you have enough knowledge under your belt. It can be a very expensive failing ground and not a place for a new collector. If anything you see that takes your eye you can always come here . I 100% guarantee you will be given precise info and the reasons
  8. Is he even human himself?
  9. Authenticity 100% All items are unconditionally guaranteed to be Authentic as described. All my Items have been purchased from collectors and auctions. Is it joke hour on the bay?
  10. I think it is par for the course these days with cam/scope images. Unless you have stereo scopes which cost a fortune you are always going to make a choice between quality and clarity. That is more than acceptable and only the periphery suffers a little loss of focus but I would have no trouble Identifying anything. I know some cams have settings other than point and click like a camera with fixed point or facial tracking
  11. Although I think the description is a little flattering. I would say the coin was gnawed on by a Beaver http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GEORGE-III-TOWER-MILLED-SILVER-HALFCROWN-COIN-015145-/260642761054
  12. Mines 2014 be interesting to see what has been added or omitted in the 2018
  13. yes I know but the original pic doesn't look like that. You couldn't see the lower line and the waves looked like they were melding into the top line, But thats pics for you lol. I posted the original above my post.
  14. Worth £60 ? Looks OK as far as you can guess from 3rd party pics.
  15. OMG did someone draw the lines on in pencil lol
  16. Here we go again remember that old saying if it looks too good to be true. No obverse pics. Obviously a pic of a normal circ Kew. If I were a bookie I would lay £100 - £1 the coin you receive is a copy. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kew-Gardens-50P-Coin-genuine-rare/122858253448
  17. I try and steer away from those cheap coins
  18. can't see much wrong with them other than cleaned badly
  19. Why Does an Alarm bell ring when I see this. What is with the curly 7's and the oval 0 and the funny serifs on the N's? I take it that is a 1707 sixpence supposed metal detecting find. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Metal-Detecting-Find-Coin-SILVER/263379664237 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Loft-Find-Coin-GOLD/263380611044
  20. Wasn't it 1982 when they dropped new for two ? I am trying to figure if that was what you meant.?
  21. too small to be a crown both issues were same size as in widow and jubilee. I think you were right the first time gold 2 pound my 2014 book has £640-£740 VF/EF 1876M £300 EF There's a £1000 right there 2 coins. Nice little lot only thing I find in attics is Cat's ,Rat's and Bat's lol
  22. 1892 1/2 sov if it has jeb on truncation of the bust its the scarcer issue. 1876 M full sovereign looks to be in exceptional order. £800-£1100?
  23. Sorry my thoughts still stand . I believe unless there are several reverse types for this date it is not what it appears to be. It just screams I am trying to look like the genuine coin but I am lacking in detail . Look at the lions head for a start in the top shield. The lettering as I mentioned is all modern sharp edged unlike the softer more rounded finish on the standard coins. Many of the letters are completely different fonts. blobs and smudges where detailed parts should be. designs inside the shields. The more I look the more I am convinced it's a jeckel. But What I know you could write on the back of a postage stamp. However I am used to dealing with replica and fake coins.
  24. You will find these sellers have many accounts and roll back and forth between them. The thing that makes me laugh is. If you are going to change identity then why to god would you not change the auction spiel. Self busted morons is all they are. Lets hope one of them puts a fake sixpence in the christmas pudding and they all get e coli
  25. yeah this system doesn't refresh itself. So whatever you post in one comment you have to refresh the page to start another or it thinks you are still posting on the same comment even though you have sent the message already.
