  1. They arrived in this morning's post NGC MS65BN (not sure about the BN myself lot of red still there. 1873 I am pretty sure it is 7+G and A George IV Obverse Brockage Farthing rare and rather neat. Sorry if the pics are worse than the auction ones and the white thing was airborne as I snapped lol. Lovely coin no luster on pic but plenty on the coin.
  2. That is only the 3rd one I have seen . I think these coins must of been stopped soon after minting as the lahore mint had 59 million coins minted but there so far has been no way to distinguish between calcutta and lahore issues as both practiced the trial marks locating one behind the head and one on the reverse but not always on the reverse. I think they started to run the 1947 and then cancelled them due to sufficient coins from 1946 and the remainder of the mintage were 1947 calcutta issues. Just an idea ?
  3. And what about the 1999 £2 technology and industry not the rugby one. Rarest of all the £2 coins in UNC and almost unheard of in BU as no BU sets or proof sets were made in that year so all there is are coins from circulation and despite 39 million minted I guess nobody thought of keeping them Book suggests £40 unc £100 BU
  4. I mean I know it's a fake but how do you know the RM destroyed it? He could of cut it in half with a pair of tin snips. I dare say it's fine but just as a devil's advocate question. But wow and so cheap as well just as a forgery. Nice find
  5. Is that a healthy eating advert?
  6. Just a stunning coin. I wonder if it's a specimen strike?. I must admit I have never seen one like this before
  7. I did notice that the legend on the reverse is misaligned in that HALF is further from the border than the letters in PENNY and I might be way off base but in my memory it rang a bell that it was a identifying factor of a rare variety type perhaps Draycott C# ? . Unfortunately it is only mentioned as a footnote in freeman's appendix list in the new book. As I said in the description there are somethings that look different to the images in the book the eye is closer to the bridge than any of the versions it should be and the nose itself is pixie like and has a narrow sharp pointy look to it. Also the ribbon tie on the right is half the width of the tie on the left where it joins the knot. The exergue line curves up at the left end like it does on the rev D penny. Neither G or I have this feature they are both straight. But as we have said time and time again a picture is worth a thousand words only if you have the item from the picture in your hand
  8. I have no idea the label as always only gives the Spink reference number. I bought it from auction thinking it might be different to the book. As I couldn't make out what one it was. I'll get a better picture I hope when it arrives. Picked this up as well but I doubt you can date it lol it's a farthing not seen a George IV before
  9. Did you not see the ship to the right as if shadowing it from afar ?
  10. OMG. I would personally request ebay strike the comment from the list and blacklist the buyer from ever buying again. I would of done exactly that if it were me. I had exactly the same on another site. The seller lost the coin and had to give me a refund and gave me 0% rating lmao. To this day it hasn't been removed and all I got was a warning for using foul language. I'll let you use your imagination what I said to johnny foreigner
  11. Just bought a 1000 x 41mm flips from this place but its worth peace of mind. only reason they are in the albums is they are supposed to be sold on . I just seem to hoard more than I shift lol. they become friends. I need to be more offensive with my selling but all the arseholes and scammers has made it very difficult to pitch decent coins and get a valid return on them. I'll not go down the start @ 99p route everytime I do it I lose out. True collectors omitted of course they know what they want and know the price is either good or bad. but it's mostly dealers looking to catch a good deal. I have a rare canadian cent and yes the coin has graffiti on like a love token inscription " For Victoria in Canada god bless you" but its very finely etched and kind of endearing. Without the graffiti it would easily fetch £500-£1000 . I got loads of emails saying the coin is basically worthless but i'll give you £100 and making it sound like they are doing me a favour. Jesus i could pop it off to PCGS and get UNC details grade and it would still fly out. Had a few coins like that . Rare is rare and it fills that damn gap lol.
  12. CGS-LCGS you say Potato I say Patato
  13. yes mate sadly i am just about to order another 500 coinsafe flips and get them out. I wish i could afford to do it for all the albums i got like 20 x 120 coin books
  14. Doesn't matter how many times I look at the pictures in freemans book I can't tell which Die pairing is on this 1873 half penny. Things that are confusing are the right hand ribbon tie is much thinner at the top where it joins the knot. The nose is pointy and demure . The reverse looks like rev G but has the same characteristics as rev D penny has with curved exergue So I am lost. Would the experts please chime in and ID this coin die pairing please
  15. I actually misread the silver part. nickel plated steel hence the reference silver but in colour only the date was 2016 . I think everyone read the article "silver 2p found in poppy appeal box"? . http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-36530514
  16. Received email warning from NGC today thought I would share it. Always good to be forewarned
  17. Look at these bandits. I have been seeing a lot of hate rants on various forums about these guys. I certainly do not like the way they structure their adverts. Ambiguous at best. You think you are buying something completely different until you get further than most would read . Take a look at the 15 piece silver set @ £39.90 . I though has to be too good to be true. I kept reading and reading waiting for the hammer to fall and it did but not until the last sentence of the advert. All the while it's kidding you along this whole 15 piece set of 1 ounce silver coins is £39.90 . It even says in this set you will get 4 coins and save £30 on the first. BS it is for 1 single coin lol. https://www.bnt.org.uk/barmaids-grief-double-florin-coin £239 for that garbage totally shameful and using BNT as well which has bugger all to do with the real BNT I am sure. Only thing they will do is give the wrong impression of the good guys
  18. Look at the date widths and how far the dates are from the edge of the coin. different style 7's closer together at the bottom 8$7 closer together at the top + that 8 on the top coin has a larger top section than the bottom on the bottom coin its other way around?
  19. seen many of these?
  20. Here is obverse
  21. oooooo looks like I stuck lucky with the hammered gurus. What are these and are they worth much. I am sadly lacking in 99% of knowledge in hammered as shameful as it sounds
  22. There is another article in which a Stamp collecting dealer poo poo's the existence of silver 2 pences struck in error. Should stick to the business he knows rather than comment as if an authority when he clearly doesn't know as much as he thinks and debunks them as myths. Plenty of articles on these coins and all verified by the royal mint . If memory serves the last one sold for £1300. I think it sometimes becomes a case of the green eyed monster because someone hasn't seen one or doesn't own one it therefore must be fake? queer as folk are sometimes. Been down that road as well lol
