I emailed the seller to say it was a forgery - I never got a reply

Apparently someone here messaged her in her dimondgirl guise and addressed her as 'marleybob' - he says she never replied which doesn't surprise me in the least!

Very impolite. I hope any future contact from this forum begins Dear Bob ...

I would have said "Dear Fagin" would be more appropriate.

"Bob" pronounced as in Blackadder Goes Forth, of course...

I love it when threads wander off into humour.

Please Sir, can I have some more?

Dickens " A tale of two cities " was originally published in two local newspapers.

It was the Bicester times, it was the Worcester times...

Why oh why do people do this ? Do they really think that someone might buy it ? Are there really people out there paying stupid money for worthless coins ?

I'm wondering if it's an eBay thing? In other words, if you offer something at a high price and it stays unsold, perhaps you get some kind of improved status as a seller though I can't think what..

Looking at the third and seventh pictures down on the listing it's clear both sides were struck upside down. Must be worth a fortune.

Of course not. They have no knowledge about coins, but are simply hoping that some junk in their procession might be worth a fortune without them knowing. Hoping that they might have a winning lottery ticket that would change their lives. They are going by "false hope is better than no hope" philosophy. Many of them have not got any feedback for selling.

Don't know, it's perverse in the extreme.

Surely, surely no-one would be so stupid....would they?

She never gives up, does she? I note this time she says the 1933 penny is "for free" - thereby giving her a get out if someone buys the lot and then claims it is fake.

My blood boils...

And why should anyone give away an object for free if someone actually did bid £8k for it?

No-one did bid £8k on it. Well, no-one apart from dimond girl aka marleybob

Found so many 1933 penny in a year, she must be a millionaire now🤣

You're absolutely right Bruce, we've been following her exploits here for a while now.

Three years and three 1933 pennies, each with a background story as unbelievable and entertaining as the free form word jazz syntax of her listings.

Then, of course, there was the Gothic crown....
