  1. My tiny voice is still crying "Who grades the graders?"
  2. Feedback from sellers may be withheld for a ligitimate reason , but some NEVER send feedback. Luckily it doesn't seem t affect the standard of the buyer, but annoying nevertheless.
  3. I'm jealous! Wonderful coins, great site. Thanks! (it is quiet, isn't it?)
  4. "In a perfect world we would only have Queens of our countries, and they would all look like this:" Do you think we could get a law past to make it come true? Now I have another vision in my head - and I feel much better!
  5. Now you've spoilt my day! I cannot get the vision of King Gordon Brown on my money out of my head!
  6. Lucky Devil! This lot are hell bent on banning this sort of pomp and ceremony and we'll be a lot smaller when it happens. I can remember Empire Day at school and the gift of mugs and sweets and the pride of even the smallest in the school. All gone and a dirty word now. We grow gradually smaller as a nation and lots of people rejoice in it. To see some of it at first hand must be really memorable.
  7. Tick Boxes?? Are we turning into a version of twitchers? Does seeing a coin in a museum count?
  8. How about the coins in the gallery? You can use mine
  9. Some more pictures. I couldn't take them down, so had to take pictures at angles to omit reflections. This could get addictive! But I don't think there will be more (except for the weekly drawing class).
  10. Just don't open it!
  11. I've added two pictures from my re-newed drawing class, just to satisfy the desire for nudes! First week, I'll add another couple each week while the classes are in progress and you can see what progress (or lack) I make I've put a direct link below!
  12. I take it that remark was tongue in cheek?
  13. It has one thing going for it over Numismatics - a pencil and a piece of paper is a hell of a site cheaper
  14. I can think of a few people he could do that to for me!
  15. Although I'm not a "modern" collector, I am impressed. Quite a collection!
  16. Great stuff! I think we may have opened a pandoras box here! Any more scribblers and daubers out there? As long as they don't overload Chris's site (we'll get kicked off)!! The use of an intermediate site - like Photobucket - will take the strain (and, no, I don't have shares in that site )
  17. Nice style! I'm a bit more staid! I do have a few nude drawings, but I'd much rather draw older people - with character!
  18. As requested in other forum, here is a link to some of my paintings. I don't have many left as I used to sell them in local exhibitions - so the best have gone -(so he says with tongue in cheek!) The large one on the wall of my daughters' livingroom was a commission for Christmas 2004 and done with the paints left over from her re-decoration of the room ( you can't see it, but one wall is the same as the main colour in the painting!) Apart from that one, I haven't painted for 2 years, but now go back to life drawing classes to see if I can "find the inspiration" again! Hope you like them! http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b240/geordie582/ Select 'Painting' and click the word in blue ( for those unused to Photobucket)
  19. Hooray for traditional styles. I want one! ( wonder if my wife reads my on-line stuff??!!)
  20. No! Sunderlanders are Southerners. And I live in Cumbria and we are planning to cecede from the UK! Ever thought it was an 'accidental' way to prevent being sent to Iraq/Afghanistan
  21. I'm a traditional painter, landscapes harbour scenes cute animals etc. But to be fair I think this should be under a suitable other forum. Any novice reading these posts will be very confused! How about using "Nothing whatever to do with coins" forum? I'll see what pictures I have left and post a couple.
  22. Perhaps they rightly belong in coin collections. After all, coins are just a different method of achieving the same object!
  23. Nice work! It's good to see craftsmanship is not dead. I won't call it art - that has become a dirty word for me with all the rubbish touted these days. I always say I'm a painter never an artist - they make unmade beds and dead half animals!! I've always wondered just what "wampam" was. Could the exchange beads be included in the definition of the word?
  24. Despite the reason behind the conversation, do not forget the need to tell newbies the truth about condition, value etc. How else do they learn how NOT to be ripped off?
