  1. If it is the guy I am thinking of I have a few nice ones off him as well
  2. I managed to pick up two nice examples of 1911 Half crowns recently. The one has the usual alignment of Obverse and Reverse however the better of the two has a noticeable axis rotation. Has anyone else come across this with George V Half crowns and specifically 1911? If this a fairly common thing? I ask as I have not seen this on any of my other George V Half crowns.
  3. A new addition bought to fill a gap but primarily for the toning....
  4. Yup I have the slab to hand.
  5. This was graded as CGS 80:
  6. Surely enhancing the colour is altering the image?
  7. Two very bad options according to my American friends, one group (WI) who see Clinton as the lesser of two evils and the other (TX) that see Trump as the lesser of two evils.
  8. @Sleepy use http://old.photojoiner.net/
  9. Hi @Sleepy this pic may help as a comparison
  10. I can only really speak about what I see on Ebay but CGS slabs, like PCGS and NGC, seem to add a significant premium to most coins on there. The odd one may prove to be a bargain but generally the CGS slabs sell for far more than book value based on the ones I watch on the bay.
  11. The type on the slab is S3.G5.1911.01 - CGS 82. I am at work so cant actually get to the coin today
  12. Not sure if it is the same for everyone but none of your pictures are loading for me.
  13. It was graded quite high if I recall. It was on my ebay watch list
  14. Ah great! Yes thanks, it fills a date gap for now
  15. I am slowly getting into Pennies, I picked this up fairly cheaply from Spain! Still working on the photos.....
  16. This is the guide I use Nordle: http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Selecting-the-Correct-Size-Standard-Lighthouse-Coin-Capsule-/10000000178714172/g.html Courtesy of AndyJack
  17. All of my coins of any value are either slabbed or in Quadrums. So far the Quadrums have been spot on.
  18. Well, my pictures are awful at the moment. This is the CGS picture which really shows how the toning looks in hand.
  19. The toning looks much better in hand
  20. Whats the UIN @Sword?
  21. I have no idea!! It went towards a 1915 half crown....
  22. I had one in my change around 8 weeks ago so they are doing the rounds. This was in Kings Norton Birmingham.
  23. If you Google select correct size quadrum it will bring up a page on ebay made by Andy jack listing the correct size per denomination.
  24. Cheers UIS that's who I use for my qaudrums
