  1. I am on the brink of making the jump and getting a Garrett 400i. I have a few small permissions in place (about 10 acres all in) but I am hoping I can gain the trust of a few farmers once I have got some feedback from these land owners to get me on 1 or 2 bigger permissions.
  2. Exactly what Rob said. If you are not happy ask for a return and refund or alternatively ask to change the item for something you do want?
  3. I have had a couple off Rendel and they have been fine
  4. No. Who was the seller?
  5. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/112446632740?_mwBanner=1 Someone is going to be upset.....
  6. I have been messing around with lighting lately, this 1918 I picked up a few weeks ago and it lit by a single daylight bulb lamp from the top of the coin trying to get the light source as far over the coin without blocking the lens.
  7. Some recent additions, I do like the Half crown and the Groat looks much better in hand. Again none really qualify for coin of the week but the Groat means 1 more box ticked for now. The shilling is currently in a dodgy NNC slab but I intend to break it out ASAP.
  8. Not in the same league as Rob or Vicky but I picked up a couple of groats as well, an upgrade and a gap filled.
  9. Congratulations
  10. That's a dodgy address. Kingfisher walk is in the King Fisher shopping centre and there are no dealers in there. B97 is Redditch but that postcode is dodgy.
  11. Same guy? https://octaviancoins.wordpress.com/about/
  12. I agree its a nightmare, I use the ebay guide from @AJWcoins (thanks Andrew!) as a rough guide when comparing the Sheldon scale to LCGS and British grading. As I said the main reason was it was a nice strike on the obverse, if it had less bag marks I would be happier but out of the 5 1914's I own it has the most fully struck ear.
  13. Hi Ian. NGC have it as MS63. It does have some bag marks etc but it has one of the best ears I have seen on a 1914 Obverse to date which is why I took the plunge on it ?
  14. A few new additions, apologies for the pictures I am having problems with them at the moment! A couple of early milled but common dates Sixpences: Also a new Halfcrown:
  15. Some pictures would really help
  16. I have not been collecting that long but the prices on eBay have been going through the roof on higher grade stuff. There are still bargains to be had but you need to spend a long time trawling through the crap to find them. Only one of my big (by my standards) purchases has been via ebay in the last 6 months or so the rest have come via more traditional routes.
  17. I agree, I am having real issues with my photographs lately. MUCH better in hand.
  18. I do not post in here often but here are a couple of newbies from @PWA 1967 I am not happy with my pictures, they look far better in hand.
  19. What Ian said ^^
  20. Would depend on the condition. Pictures are needed to be able to help.
  21. From what I have read, depending on the base metal it seems a furnace with the coin suspended in it will see the enamel melt and run off the coin. Obviously you would need to check the melt point of the enamel against the coin it sits on
  22. If you want to sell the Sovereign use the sovereign group on facebook. You will get more than from the gold brokers, lower grade sovs sell for £230 up on there at the moment.
  23. I can recommend a few trusted sellers on Facebook as well who only deal in sovereign's and are often below the bullion by post prices only being a few points above spot for moden bullion.
  24. Some pics with my main camera. For the money I cannot complain!
  25. Yes its the broken E
