  1. I am lurking! Already blown most of my budget for the year!
  2. Please make sure you are on council-owned beaches in Cornwall, not on beaches owned by the Duchy of Cornwall, National Trust, or private land as they will try to fine you.
  3. Hi Rob, I did some digging and I think it is a Hong Kong 5 cent, Jonas, Brook & Brothers token. 1870 - 1890.
  4. I sent them a message reporting it, hopefully others did to ,and ebay emailed me last night saying it had been pulled and action was been taking against the seller.
  5. Is this any help? https://www.noonans.co.uk/auctions/archive/special-collections/803/collector/ https://www.britnumsoc.org/images/BIOGRAPHIES/A_to_E/Cokayne-FS-1871-1945-GMO-001.pdf
  6. Only that the seller listed the same coin for more money and under a slightly different account!
  7. I am convinced its a fake now.... ah well!
  8. Rather than start another thread, does this look legit to you guys?
  9. I would assume it is someone like Atlas? There are so many coins appearing on ebay, sold at auction, that are listed for significantly more than they were bought for and sometimes with dubious descriptions, missing key information from the original auction listing like edge bumps or inflated grades. I know dealers have to make a living but some of them are taking the proverbial..... Will the bubble burst?
  10. I tend to use a third party to submit my coins to NGC here in the UK. The turn around was around 3 months last time (over a year ago). I can put you in touch with someone in the UK who can help. I know its not ideal but they may be able to give you a steer.
  11. I have 2 1925's at the moment, one is impaired due scratches on the bust (not mentioned by Spink when I bought it) and the other was graded as CGS78 (I think). Neither are as good as yours @ozjohn
  12. No they stopped a few years back. The auctions take too much time of their time and are far more profitable than grading unfortunately.

I have dabbled azda but don't know enough to make any serious investment/gamble. That said, with the current price jumps I'm up about 300% today but have been down by 50% in the past.
  14. I am really struggling to fill the many gaps I have. Most things are now out of reach of my budget.
  15. As paddy said just get a USB DVD drive, no more than £22 ish. My main PC doesn't have a DVD drive so I use a USB external drive.
  16. I hope you all have a nice Christmas break and New Year!
  17. Yes I had my eye on a couple of lots but they went for way over my budget.
  18. Hi Jerry, Here are a few of the more useful and/or busy ones. https://facebook.com/groups/259534051467342/ https://facebook.com/groups/2465098747044680/ https://facebook.com/groups/1612487989090789/ https://facebook.com/groups/ConderCafe/
  19. The facebook groups are certainly busy but the wealth of knowledge here is superb.
  20. I think on average its about £23 ish to get it slabbed but Matt will be able to confirm.
  21. Hi Paddy, I can put you in touch with someone for NGC grading if you would like. Used him a few times and so far so good.
  22. I know nothing on Pennys so advised him to join here to get an expert opinion on his coins.
  23. I replied on the post but was talking about a totally different coin due to how facebook showed the posts. I likely, unintentionally, added to the confusion. Sorry!
