  4. That's not good. Makes some coins that were just in reach unattainable now.
  5. I recently started to buy some Roman bit and bobs. This is my favourite so far: Marcus Aurelius silver Denarius, Mars on Rev
  6. If you want to buy qaulity coins then yes it's worth the drive. A few of the dealers also have trays with £1 to £2 type coins available. It depends on what your after and the budget you have in play.
  7. Are you sure its wear and not just the toning? Ear and tash look ok but I'm on my phone not my PC.
  8. Hi Pete, received thank you. Really appreciate you sending this over.
  9. Yes please Pete.
  10. Vicky, I got caught out in the same Spink sale to a degree, bought a lot of halfcrowns, some were great, some where not in hand. No issues were mentioned on the description but I should have asked to see the Obverse side of the coins as only the Revs were showing in the auction guide. Over all happy with the purchase but the one coin I really wanted had issues which meant the price paid was OTT. Lesson learned.
  11. The halfcrown looks nice Vicky!
  12. Anyone know when the results are likely to be posted?
  13. I love the toning but the dink in the field on the 1893 and the light scuff on the 1896 means, at some point I will upgrade them but I picked up both for well under what I would have expected to normally even with the slight issues. They are ones I will no doubt upgrade but will also keep because of the toning.
  14. I just had an email from ebay as I offered £1 for this saying it had sold for £500..... 😮
  15. Both not the highest grade but fill gaps and nice to look at for now:
