  1. They had done upto about 39505 on saturday as i and another forum member had received some back. Although inbetween that number and yours i have some more and also been waiting awhile although the invoice date was May. Hope you dont mind i was also a bit nosey and had a look at your coin Start using the forum marston and hope you get them back soon and happy with the result. Pete.
  2. What was one of the UIN marston
  3. I dont have a clue about them but your point i would never of thought of so they could be counterfeit of the same time ?. If so i suppose someone would still buy one rather than a modern copy. That makes a lot of sense
  4. Hat off Ian and a really good job. Hope if you get a few quid and they are right craig ........Buy Ian A pint
  5. Its a tricky one . For all the help i am most gratefull and the forum members know who you are. Thanks for the replies 1887 jubilee, stuntman , Dave and Peter. I am not in any rush and will be giving it some thought as my initial plan was just to look at key dates of any denomination but then feel my grading knowledge of other coins (zero ) would take me back were i started . The more obvious one is halfpennies........but not sure. Peter there are still alot missing as you could go on forever with varieties and minor date widths some of which i am not bothered about, but i do have most of the copper 1797-60 I found looking at the Bramah numbers fascinating also and have spent about eighteen months on them. Think the problem is i am always wanting to buy something coin wise Pete.
  6. Could be worth 1K. Welcome to the forum Nanwem, although as far as the holiday goes it might buy you half a lager when you get there ,depending were your going.
  7. I started Jerry as it coincided with my grand daughter being born and just thought i would buy a few to put away until she was 18/21and give me a bit of an interest. Definately not an investment although not totally mad to not hope for the return to be ok for her. Moving on anything i am buying now apart from possibly the odd one will just be for myself. Thank you for the above replies Pete.
  8. Wide open question Three to four years ago i decided to buy a few pennies to put away for eighteen years or so. I didnt have a clue and learned quite alot since and continue to do so. The problem is buying a few got a bit out of hand and now struggling to find anything really as some varieties etc i am missing are unlikely to turn up often. Anyway its given me an interest, meeting new people, forum, speaking to auctioneers, dealers who have helped me so much. Would you turn to another denomination, key dates, patterns, proofs and the list goes on or just be happy to keep looking for the odd one to purchase. Pete.
  9. So sad... i was in Paris last october and a terrible experience
  10. Got the reults of one batch i sent through today so feel anyone waiting a couple months they should be with you soon. I least i suppose they are all being done and will get them straight ,should they be making any changes.
  11. Dont really see how its funny to watch......seems cruel to me . I dont really have an effection with animals so dont have any, apart from a few daft frogs in a tank we have had for years. Cruelty is another matter.....if you cant look after them ,dont get one
  12. Sent you a PM Paul.
  13. One from a forum member i have been after and not easy to find. 1841 with COLON a lot harder than the common one.
  14. Ian....i buy cartier if you have any ......PM me with details. Were abouts do you live ?.
  15. The gouby x 1911 is scarce but not rare ....i have 7 and sold a few duplicates.
  16. Need to send you a few pictures again although some of my other scarce ones you dont seem to bothered about.. Andy Scott sale 3 plumes as an example, F8 F9 F41......
  17. Hat off ... do you still have a list your selling ? Alternatively do you update the rare varieties on your site ?. Pete.
  18. Have you decided not to sell any Richard.....only as you were sending a list out ?.
  19. Nice to be nice and also to help people . As i say HAT OFF to you Peter
  20. Lovely coin Adam
  21. Vicky ...Chill out as you told me a few months ago. You just bought a cleaned 1905 penny for £xxxxxxx Dont be talking to much about photos..... Hat off.
  22. Yes .....I would show a coin to three people and they might not be far off with the grade. Its the one who finds a fault i am looking for ....That as i have found and studied over the last few years is a lot harder. Lights,magnification,edges.....Has it got FAULTS They are never going to be perfect but the knowledge Paul had with regards rejections at cgs was quality ,can only talk about pennies. Just a phone call and i made dozens....Paul.... what do you mean ?..... explained in depth and sure he was pissed off with me asking questions untill i understood. We all want to learn and sometimes as with anything costs money......as does grading. Exceptions too everything ,you may not agree . They put in a slab and tell you about things that a lot of selllers / buyers wish to ignore or not mention. YOU PAY FOR SOMEONE INDEPENDENT....might not be good news You pay ... and they tell you an opinion...and saved me a lot of money in the first couple of years with rejections and learned a lot also. I had quite a few rejections on coins worth £500 + and got my money returned from dealers straight away , who i continue to buy from. I have learned a lot more since and continue to do so..from in some instances Pauls explanation. So for everyone who wants to put a bad word in not a problem as your not interested and if you are happy you will never need them. From me Be lucky. Not a sales pitch....infact not anything ......but the truth. Pete.
  23. Thank you. I am not being difficult, its not always about grade. For me its about has it got a PROBLEM i didnt notice. A lot of people miss the obvious because they dont want to see it IMO. GRADE mad ...not looking at the problems
