I didnt know there was now a few of the mule and thought there was only the one, sold by Hiram Brown. I would buy one today for much more than it sold for at Noonans and will have to start looking now 👍

Some were although some not and the two page ammendment sheet put inside the 1970 book at a later date. The 1909 F169 is another and says should be R15 although was in the later books as R9. Nothing amazing and was just posted for anyone who may be interested.

It was inside a copy of the 1970 First edition i bought a few months ago and hadnt seen one before.

Dont know if this is any interest to anyone. Although i have posted in pennies, it also covers other bronze. These were amendments freeman made after his first bronze book, showing some that he had estimated to be less rare than he originally thought or at the time of print didnt know existed, such as the 1860 Halfpenny mule, 1870 Dot penny etc.

Penny Acquisition of the week

I think there are a couple of date types in Gouby that are rare rather than scarce and maybe not knowing how many will turn up in the future. Most that are scarce in low grade will be much harder ( rare) in higher grades, 1890 being one of them 👍. -

Yesterday i received payment from them after about 10 days for three seperate invoices and had numerous this year. Two other forum members i know have also got a refund within a short period of time. All you have to do is POST them the original envelope and invoice (i keep photocopies) showing the duty paid (NOT email them) accompanied with a brief letter or the form you can print off, asking for your refund and with your bank details. If your buying a few its also easier to send them together, maybe at the end of each month.

Sent you a message, i have a Gouby Specialist Edition plus the update BUT not cheap and you may prefer to wait and try and find one cheaper.

I have a few left from a sealed bag and uncirculated.

Your 1898 is the Bisect 8 which are quite scarce.

Yes i watched the documentary on TV when it came out a while ago 👍 -
Made me smile "Cant see the pic" Coinery picture is almost the size of the screen 😀👍.
-
No you will find what you want and know what your happy with, it was more a guide as what you wanted to pay. However ones that are nice in high grade are much more expensive.
-
Can i ask please what kind of grade you want or price your looking to pay ? They are both scarcer years in higher grades and nice, could be anything from £150 - £700 as a guide.
-
Thats a really good example and good buy, Hat Off 😀👍.

I have since found out the NGC one in my post wasnt in a rare set and was more i only saw the NGC scan on Monday / Tuesday and the only other i could find was in an LCA Rare 1953 Set. Posting on here was a way of trying to find anymore and thank you for your pictures. Today (Friday) i have been told of another one, although as i cant find very many i dont really have a clue. They seem to be very rare but like the 1953 Scarcer proof Halfcrowns possibly more than i originally thought as only been looking a few days and all guess work. Maybe as you saw and bought that one a few years ago, you have seen others since ? Can you tell me which Auction and lot number you bought it from please as its definately Obverse 1 and does look like a proof.
