  1. The Sale is not online yet and just in this months Coin monthly.
  2. I notice the 1954 Penny is for Auction with Sovereign Rarities 19Th November £90-120,000. Also a Silver proof Penny 1860 ,struck on a Heavy flan and another 8 or so ,all of which are rare.
  3. The 1896 Very wide date is Rare ,i have only seen or know of about 10 looking for them over the last 7/8 years. Gouby BP1896Ad , 11-5 Date width ,although Michael has put scarce in his book due to not doing another book and knowing how many will turn up in the future. There are 4 date widths for 1896 ( a,b,c&d) this being the widest. Keep it safe 👍
  4. The book (Binder) is called "The british Bronze penny 1860-1901" and was printed in 2009 but sold out now.Although if you do find find one some have extra pages which were added in 2020.They are hard to find and unless your lucky not cheap ,even more so with the update (extra pages) but worth looking for especially for varieties and date widths which a lot are not recorded in any other book.Date widths for the early years are not included though as it says in the book to numerous to list them all.
  5. The 1890 is a known variety and in the Gouby book BP1890Aa ( Scarce) , 14 Teeth with the 90 entered lower and not in alignment.
  6. That’s not B reverse , it’s unrecorded.
  7. The main reason is and may be wrong is that they don’t know them , although will do but an extra charge.Problem with the only two big graders is they have done over 150 million coins worldwide of just about every denomination known and nobody knows everything about them all.I used to send quite a few to ngc some I had the Freeman number on but only occasionally as not cost effective intending to sell them in the near future and only had varieties done in high grade.
  8. It means altered surface / cleaned , which can mean a number of things but in the case of the penny I have it’s been done with a grease or oil in my opinion.
  9. Wiped with a cloth with 3 in 1 oil or grease on.
  10. Sorry to jump on your post ,however i have a 1865/3 for sale. Its been WIPED although R13 and think the price is fair. Gouby BP1865Be £40 posted Tracked Delivery to the UK and can message clear pictures of the overdate as to big to download.
  11. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266978285026?_nkw=penny+coin&itmmeta=01J6ZD0QHG63NVNZYBB3B2Y19B&hash=item3e292555e2:g:g5kAAOSwmH9m2K8F&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA4HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKmOOXhDfJShZ9k0rmGvI5hL4%2BUm9bpbNymp%2BBQnv2NskT24AngdvxxhL%2FehlD9wnlssFVcPLWBd%2BBd8E65rryXVT5%2BTBetWyGOygdiIVK9Lwht469lB9D6HHXPMH0tTW8sekZSWX0dHKcQZOq6Ed8tsEB2SNl1Buwc7Uf14PTkgQuvk4hGL1wvstNZF0pmY1jRmcyIuvWxg6FG10Yxix09XNglgQSAF4NnGv%2BofJHQVATEgeI%2B%2BZY3wa7G7n%2BnST0dUCHxrxIBXdMUoEohG7PtK|tkp%3ABk9SR-r4gu23ZA This seller wants kicking off eBay he annoys me that much i wish i could meet him to tell him 😀.
  12. Yes ,i believe Ab is rare ,Ba scarce and Aa ,Bb both common ,is that correct Gary as just what i was told this morning ?
  13. Yes although the two different obverse dies are well known and two different date widths that give four different die combination varieties instead of two ?.
  14. It could of been anyone Bob i guess ,as far as i can see its just a date width variety and probably more collectors made aware of it with the benefit of the internet ?.
  15. Thought i should put my example on this thread ,talking to Michael Gouby he is not sure he has owned one.
  16. I believe it went to £60,000 and doubt very much it sold 😀,another example of starting auctions at ridiculous low prices and wasting everyones time.
  17. I notice the 1827 Penny sold straight away in Baldwin fixed price list for £22,000.
  18. I am useless on a computer but this is by far the easiest one i have used. If you want to crop the picture first ,click crop ,edit size and download. If you just want to just share the picture just click on re size image and type in 800 in the very left hand box ,then download. Only takes seconds once you have done the first couple. https://imageresizer.com/
  19. I would guess sovereign rarities sold it to someone in japan ,maybe even the auctioneer. It makes more sense to me than if someone in the UK had bought it.
  20. Yes it was £100K more expensive a few years ago and been for sale since with offers. Daft starting it so low and just wastes people time IMO 😀
  21. Can you put a link up please and is 5,000.000 Yen about £24K as if so that seems way to cheap ,they are not going to sell it for that. Or have i worked the price out wrong 😀
  22. 1937 Proof and nice clear example of a missing waves.
  23. Quite a few pennies in the next Baldwin Auction 10 th July. https://baldwins.co/en-GB/auction/4fa31230-eb64-45de-84b3-426f855b3607?department=BDW#/auctions
  24. No i meant for the June sale Rob wanted ,i am sure they will have some left and be glad to get rid of them.
  25. Have you not sent LCA an email Rob to just post you one.
