  1. Yes didn’t realise there was two types of F24 👍 Not knowing is the only difference the leaf or any other indicator please ? Can ignore this as just looked on the website 👍
  2. Going to end up common and anyone that wants one already have one soon 👍
  3. The picture is 11-5 teeth with the H over a Gap although cant be sure of the obverse without a picture 😀 👍
  4. I know there is no admin as such but maybe Chris might read this or someone who can help. A friend has been trying to join the forum since the 4th of December. Each time he goes to use it the same message flags up. Something like "we will notify you on approval by email when you have been approved to post " i believe his email shows in the message and is correct. However after a couple of weeks and trying again this morning, still the same. Pete.
  5. Believe me when you SELL them you will be greatfull of any bids and if its a collector or dealer that pushes the price up a £1 ($1) is all the same regardless of who gives it you. Richard mentioned pennies selling in the Workman sale of which i know a collector bought 7/8 and a couple of other collectors quite a lot between them both, if those three people hadnt bid then most would of gone for a lot lot less. If Atlas did buy some or any other dealer from the Workman sale, they had the same oportunity and the same pound notes as anyone else and what they chose to offer them for after the sale is up to them. Buying something for £20,000 and then asking £40,000 doesnt always work out 😀.
  6. Send Steve Hill an eMail at Sovereign Rarities Gary, they might have a couple left, not sure about the prices realised as they are on the website.
  7. I made an offer of £75 without the update, which he can buy seperately if he wants to.
  8. Thankyou, I bought that as only got asked for one off a new collector a couple of weeks ago and as I told him at the time you dont see them often.
  9. Yes we will disagree, i was happy to post it you free of charge and you were happy to receive it, perfect 👍.
  10. Yes i remember the coin Terry ,its only an opinion and that one i have seen in hand and was cleaned as i said when i posted it you, just the same as the one posted yesterday was.
  11. Yes , plenty cleaned pennies are sold everyday.Just depends on what the buyer / seller thinks and will tolerate. some are obviously worse than others. The one pictured you obviously considered to be ok when you bought and received it and just giving my own opinion.
  12. Thats just been cleaned as can be seen under the arm and to the right of the trident, with all the lines confirming it.
  13. Will be online soon with Sovereign Rarities if you google it and a collection of rare pennies 👍.
  14. Coin News ,think you know what i meant 😃
  15. Yes the 9 or 10 pennies are all pictured on a full page in Coin news.
  16. The Sale is not online yet and just in this months Coin monthly.
  17. I notice the 1954 Penny is for Auction with Sovereign Rarities 19Th November £90-120,000. Also a Silver proof Penny 1860 ,struck on a Heavy flan and another 8 or so ,all of which are rare.
  18. The 1896 Very wide date is Rare ,i have only seen or know of about 10 looking for them over the last 7/8 years. Gouby BP1896Ad , 11-5 Date width ,although Michael has put scarce in his book due to not doing another book and knowing how many will turn up in the future. There are 4 date widths for 1896 ( a,b,c&d) this being the widest. Keep it safe 👍
  19. The book (Binder) is called "The british Bronze penny 1860-1901" and was printed in 2009 but sold out now.Although if you do find find one some have extra pages which were added in 2020.They are hard to find and unless your lucky not cheap ,even more so with the update (extra pages) but worth looking for especially for varieties and date widths which a lot are not recorded in any other book.Date widths for the early years are not included though as it says in the book to numerous to list them all.
  20. The 1890 is a known variety and in the Gouby book BP1890Aa ( Scarce) , 14 Teeth with the 90 entered lower and not in alignment.
  21. That’s not B reverse , it’s unrecorded.
  22. The main reason is and may be wrong is that they don’t know them , although will do but an extra charge.Problem with the only two big graders is they have done over 150 million coins worldwide of just about every denomination known and nobody knows everything about them all.I used to send quite a few to ngc some I had the Freeman number on but only occasionally as not cost effective intending to sell them in the near future and only had varieties done in high grade.
  23. It means altered surface / cleaned , which can mean a number of things but in the case of the penny I have it’s been done with a grease or oil in my opinion.
