  1. Not much happening on here. I recently bought a 1858 ,it came from Heritage and a variety i was made aware of about twelve months ago. Although a lot dont really look at coppers i am now really keen on all the varieties. Just been talking to Matt who thought it was worth sharing a picture. Its the 1858 with the F over B in DEF. I Have spent the last twelve months looking at every 1858 (well almost ) on ebay and found three. Pete.
  2. Dont really understand the reason for the post then If you thought it was less should of bought it and give it him. Sounds a good earner
  3. Really interested as most on here are not CGS............ Boooooooooooooooooo Anyway he is a nice guy that looked at your coin and gave you his opinion. What did he say ?.
  4. That was a good spot Bob
  5. What does a scrap sovereign sell for at the moment Mynki ?.
  6. Hi paulus i have a spare 1891 CGS 32567 graded 75 would sell for £70 including postage. Although i may say it myself its nicer than the picture(as you no some are not the best). Not a problem if no use let me no if you would prefer another date. Pete.
  7. Dont worry about me Ian always chilled .....well not always Is that yours ,has that been added ?.
  8. More importantly are these coins now being shown as conserved when people are selling them. I have bought a few graded as rejects really cheaply , but feel more often they are broken out and resold as being ok.
  9. I slab pennies and nothing else for reasons i have mentioned before. If they dont reject any and give just a grade i cant see any benefit sending them as i dont want to sell any and the grade is not far away from reputable opinion I cannot believe they say .... we will charge you for conservation so you have a decent coin. After just reading the NGC site its not something i can get my head round I only collect copper/bronze pennies..... surely they should say....... Buy another ,the one you have has problems, not we will clean it
  10. I will let you rest and chill out ..... YES its a clogged die and being an expert thats YOUR opinion. You still miss the point............ if someone (not yourself) want a second / Third opinion send it .....if you dont not a problem. I was just giving another option... and as you state one your not bothered about.
  11. Not at all they get things wrong but not much to spend on an opinion. I didnt really just mean with this coin was more in general. By the time you spend driving round to dealers /fairs putting petrol in and messing about. Post the coin and see what they say .... nothing to lose you still get it back. However i trust them enough to say i would buy it if came back ok.........but thats another thread.
  12. Its nothing to do with weather one has been attributed. Its if your really not sure spend £13.75 and find out . Otherwise make your own decision I have just received quite a few pennies back that they have not slabbed before. What they have done is confimed the variety and said they are problem free ,so i am more than happy
  13. As daft as it seems some technology with regards microscopes and lighting costs a lot more than £14. What i was trying to say..... if you want to have an opinion a coin might be worth sending it might resolve a thought. If you dont and leave the question wide open , well not a problem just an idea and leave it I dont think the H is missing but if the guy who has it ,spend £14 and find out Alfnail has the best microscope for coins i have seen but was slightly over £14
  14. Yes i agree but somtimes easier to say if you want to be sure send it to someone who will look properley. For the sake of spending £14 easy to find out and if you dont want to risk that much you know its not ok.
  15. Yes i may be shot down in flames Ones like this ...if your not sure.... send to cgs and for £13.75 get an independent opinion. People on here can only look at a picture rather than the coin going under a microscope /Light and three people looking in hand. It might take a couple of months Otherwise you will keep looking and wont get the attribution. £13.75 is not a lot to spend and if you dont think it is ok just keep it , i assume you are not sure or wouldnt of posted. Plus if its OK i will buy it
  16. To live in his house is a good reason for looking for them. I dont think that has come up on the forum before
  17. Thats a good example Rob.
  18. Fantastic coin prax and one to keep Fortunately the coins i looked at were not mine Vicky but ones i looked at. A couple are with dealers and dont think it would be fair on the dealer to bring to everyones attention on an open forum. What i would suggest is check before you buy as always and now i will double check. I only send coins to get slabbed to try and ensure they are problem free (not a guarentee but gives me peace of mind) if they dont reject any then the grade is not always the issue.
  19. Yes i agree ,why its a forum would like to see any posts rather than nothing. Without people posting it would no longer be a forum. We may aswell just email each other
  20. A 1903 open 3 in unc Hope you still have a picture Prax. The one Richard has is quality but never seen one ln that kind of grade. Like alot of the varieties i am sure they will turn up in high grades.
  21. Interesting posts Prax and thank you. The ones i couldnt find months ago were ok just me entering them wrongly
  22. Would be better to perhaps post a picture Welcome to the forum .........whats the pink all about
  23. Spent the last twenty minutes looking at NGC pennies...... yes i need to get out more. Can anyone find one that is mentioned on the slab as i have just found a few that are live verd ?.
  24. Vicky knows his silver so that will be spot on dippy dip and no need to send it.
