The thing that i am not sure about.Looking at michael gouby book BP1882 Aa the coin does have the right reverse and 14 teeth ?.

The rim on mine could never be determined as a proof peck unless mistruck .Think i will just send c.g.s. a mail .I just see it as a nice coin from circulation in a good grade.

In my opinion appears to be an H thanks rob

Nothing i can find peck and no big deal.Would be interested in c.g.s. opinion but not loosing any sleep.

Still after looking at the coin to be graded as a specimen strike rather than a high grade normal issue can only come down to the fields in the blank ?

Hi peter yes the problems are obvious , however why a specimen one only graded ?

Thanks peck .The real question is how can c.g.s .determine a specimen strike and grade the coin as the only one they have graded.As opposed to just a high grade normal issue

Hi . i recently purchased an 1876H penny.The thing i am confused with is its been graded by c.g.s. as a specimen strike.I no it might not be a big deal,does this just mean its a good early strike ?. sorry i cant download the pictures .However its c.g.s. uin 26028.If someone can put the pictures up would appreciate it.At a caravan in abersoch and the computer keeps going off. As someone who used to buy frequently on ebay the whole bidding scenario has now become a joke.Its either a bin or i cant be bothered with all the hassle anymore.Shill bidding everyone up just annoys me and wastes everyones time .

I have found it much easier to work out freeman numbers ,varieties etc .Having the different coins in hand and comparing them was a big learning curve..I now feel confident spending money on a coin and learned a lot more studying the coin rather than just looking at a book .Its not a case of looking for something i just got familiar with freeman numbers by having low grade examples.

Always better to compare one with another .I buy low grades sometimes just to compare freeman numbers etc.Thats just a standard date.

Getting the stock from the pawn shop obviously helped ,especially on the jewellery.However low over heads ,not much advertising .Think using a small bar and using a mailing list would give a couple of dealers an opportunity to move stock on.Anyway sure someone will get something together

Hi azda i must mention only about 10 k was spent with niel .Some have also been through auctions and michael gouby.I have not really bought them as an investment ,more an interest and if in twenty years time they are worth less atleast i enjoyed buying them .Sure your son is happy and thats more important than anything all the best and be lucky

I understand peck ,collecting the pennies was just an interest and sometimes takes my mind off the negatives .Yes the money helps and i wish you well.

Dont suppose the money is ever really spare peck ,however dont really have an issue in buying something i consider an assett .I worked hard to make a few quid and retired at forty.Although my health is not the best happy to buy and enjoy collecting coins.Be lucky.The point i suppose i am making is yes got the money ,but alot of the time would prefer to feel well everyday.

I have recently been putting together a few pennies .These are to be put away for my grandaughter for twenty years.The main thing is i have spent about thirty thousand choosing the best grades and given me an interest and hopefully hold there value.For the cost of spending an extra few pound it gives me peace of mind,that when i am not here and she opens the safe would like to no she has a quality collection.Would like to also express my thanks to niell paisley who has helped me to put the collection together and the last ten coins just received back from cgs all graded 80/82/85 were just as he said and spot on.Buy from a reputable dealer and wont go far wrong.I buy the coin and not always the slab but a lot of the ones over £500 nice to have the best ones about knowing they are ok and give my grandaughter a few quid.
