  1. Well thats one good reason rob. Will put it in the tick box
  2. Hi having used c.g.s i would you use them again .The people on the forum who have used them would you do so again. What benefits do you think you got , alternatively how could they improve ?.
  3. Was going to purchase a £700 coin not to long ago off a dealer.and said i would buy it .However if it was rejected by cgs would they allow me to send it back as may take a month or so..He told me they dont have a clue ,but would not put his money were his big mouth was and put the phone down.It was funny at the time but if i was selling something for a few quid would hope the customer was going to be happy
  4. Hi coinkat. As no expert and was unsure about grading and relying on reputable dealers found out in a short period of time grading and prices can differ so much. Some coins you think would cost a few pound I.e 1898 penny harder to find in a top grade than you would think. You only have to look at certain coins, some being sold at more than spink and some being sold for a lot less.I have been putting together a collection of pennies and a lot have come already slabbed from london coins auction. Some coins that were sent by dealers were garbage and even a then untrained eye like mine could tell. Can get a bit frustrating having to keep returning coins in the post. P.S if my grammar / spelling peck is bad l am thick
  5. Maybe i should of paid for english lessons aswell peck.Never passed an exam and the only test i passed was driving. But made a good few quid being nice with people and retired at forty .Not sure if i have spelt that right ,but encouraged my kids to have a good education so they are not thick and daft like me.
  6. Good point ,however we have not and will never have your knowledge. We all need someone occasionally to advise us and help out.If that comes at a small price happy to pay.I notice your interest peter cars and fishing.I had a fishing shop for nine years and have had some fantastic cars, but still prepared to get advice before buying a car for a lot of money and spent years helping people to get involved in fishing. The main thing is you have gathered and have the knowledge ,some people are prepared to pay an amount to learn..This can be cost effective weather they are golf ,fishing or coin collecting lessons some of us happy to pay.You use the word muppet and you may no your subject well ,but always remember you dont no everything and sometimes worth a second opinion
  7. Yes you could be right .However they have a lot more experience than me.To call c.g.s. graders mugs is one of the daftest things i have ever heard. You are obviously making comments on people you do not no.
  8. Everyone collects for different reasons .Personally my collection is to be put away for twenty years .I have slabbed over 70 c.g.s. coins and for each one i have put away happy with.Fantastic ,good price and honest service if you have spent over 30k why not slab and no your putting away quality. The storage is self explanatory i have a safe and insured by c.g.s. value.
  9. Send it to c.g.s although busy at the moment with the auction in a couple of week.Might take a month but three different graders share an opinion and for twenty three pound well worth the money
  10. Suppose what i meant was get it authenticated and then either keep it or move on.Small price to pay for a coin that might be worth a few quid.
  11. can i please ask about cgs coin slabs?
  12. Think i no peck, only joking and hope your feeling ok
  13. Having a second look maybe a good find
  14. Not sure now..Would feel in hand the best thing is to send to cgs. Does not look right to me.However i am normally wrong
  15. Azda who is MP just thought i would wake you up ?
  16. Be interesting to hear johns opinon ,has it been cleaned,I have dealt with you before and would like your view
  17. No worries ,happy collecting and keep smiling.Glad they arrived safely

  20. Sorry bronze mad for repeating you
  21. Looks like a four but need a close up,could be very scarce.
  22. Yes vicky thats what i meant see the same coin numerous times
  23. Not at that price a c.g.s graded e/f sold at the last london auction for £1400 plus commission and was better than that. I want one unc but thats not worth looking at and daft money
  24. Think the point of different dealers/auction house makes the difference. Its a penny i have been looking to purchase. Not really common in a good grade, but see the same coin numerous times.
