  1. Not having a clue about silver are those marks from a rusty die or just wear /bag marks.....as i have no idea ?.
  2. Is it a typo as does say £900 in the heading which may be more on the mark.
  3. Thought maybe i would start here if anyone can help me please. The knot in one of my shaving brushes fell out this morning and not sure what to use to glue it back in. Its more a sentimentle thing really as my dad bought it me years ago so i wont just throw it away and just needs glueing back in. I have tried the internet as was going to phone the maker up to see what glue is probably best as the bristles were obviously put in some kind of resin. Anyway they dont exist any longer so any help would be appreciated. I dont want to put the wrong glue on and ruin it Pete.
  4. Yes regardless of how prices may have risen on some coins £9k in 1967 seems a lot of money to pay for a penny Although they turned him down and hopefully he bought a house instead
  5. I looked at some of the sellers items recently and although i dont know anything about silver some of the bronze looked cleaned Maybe thats ok .....What do you think ?.
  6. I am very sorry it was only a suggestion and hope you get it sorted
  7. It will just be a security alert from your bank as the saleroom charge 1p to open the account and although dont actually debit it have to put a figure . If your bank have not notified you yet you may have to phone them. Fraud is often done for amounts less than a £1 to see if they can gain access to your details.
  8. Thanks Chumlee
  9. I havent got a clue which bible it was but was only on last week the dealer did it around 1900 and the single page was about £90K if i remember correctly. It was on the Pawn Stars programme last Tuesday. I know the programme is all set up for TV but the History i would assume is correct. May of been the same as the Spink one as there cant be many books at around £100K a page.
  10. Is that one of the bibles that was on TV the other day that a dealer had taken apart and sold individual pages?. I didnt even realise they printed books that long ago
  11. If they are going in a tray why not try the stamp holders, you can get different sizes pick the coin up see both sides and only a couple of pound for a packet full. The coin wont move about and makes handling them alot easier. Just buy the size that fits and a lot cheaper than capsules if you want a lot. If your not sure what they look like go to the items for sale thread (Pennies High Grade ) i put the 1946 pennies in some although they have not been cut down or folded over. I only buy one size that fit both copper and bronze pennies and fold them over to go in a paper envelope , yours could go straight in the tray.. If you want some PM me as they are not the easiest item to find cheap and will pass on a sellers details. Only an option for you ,maybe worth buying if only to put the RANG TANG in Pete.
  12. I would just leave it Paul it must be small to only be able to see under a microscope and not worth bothering about if a cheap coin anyway.
  13. Mark Rasmussen has a picture of a 1051 on his site under the Archive section.
  14. Yes Mike i have sent you an email
  15. HAT OFF... Richard for the interesting article in coin news
  16. Yes it did make me think last year in The Copthorne auction with regards a small customer base. A lot were bought just by a few forum members and made me think that there were not as many penny collectors as i thought.
  17. Perhaps a few around as i got one a couple of weeks ago .
  18. Maybe the quality material you mention Rob is going into auctions rather than being offered to dealers.
  19. Some dealers have had very little new stock this year so you end up just looking at the same coins every month. The ones who have sold nothing off there site maybe due to everyone already looking at it ,when its the same everyweek. Maybe the ones selling nothing are not buying anything ?. I appreciate coins are not just something you can get from a wharehouse but some sites very rarely add much. Its like the dealers who carry the same stock to shows looking for a new collector the regulars start to drift away i would think. If like me you dont go to shows it means you spend more time looking at auctions.
  20. PWA 1967

I should of posted as have one now. Maybe someone else on the forum wants one
  21. Different machines will possibly produce different varieties as Dave has found ?.
  22. Does anyone know if the blanks are round ?. If the blanks are round and i am led to believe more than one machine running, a fraction of a difference in the die setting could possibly make a slight difference . Maybe i am way off
