  1. Another of which there are fakes, would have to be carefull not in the packaging of which even those are being opened and then heatsealed.
  2. See i told you that you would find one.........Have faith
  3. Think your dad would of kept them if Roman. Maybe farming tokens but not a clue.......Maybe go and dig them back up
  4. We have all done it and sure you will find one Good luck.
  5. Problem is they are making new ones every month and will only get better at it , the book could end up almost weekly . IMO will only make new collectors pissed off as when they buy one and fnd its a copy will lose interest. These in the years to come could of been the people buying forum members coins when they come to sell and can only damage the future of coin collecting. There are people buying decimal coin copies for £50-£100 every day kew gardens ,lines on face etc. Its not just the rare or scarce coins but the ones widely available that people dont look at twice that could cause a big problem.
  6. Yes you cant change the title ,need to start a new thread. The way they make a coin look worn and toned (1860 halfpenny) is good and if done on more common dates were people dont look the same will definately fool people. Although the 1860 halfpenny has differences such as the milled edge they are well done as was looking at one in hand yesterday.
  7. Might be tricky Paul they dont do the quadrum in -5 sizes Maybe the foam is slightly giving and will hold it firm at 19mm although i dont have one to try. Why i was typing i decided to have a look and Andy Jack says 19mm for a sixpence. Spending this time looking and maybe partridge doesnt like them
  8. Maybe try a quadrum coin capsule they have a foam insert which will help grip the coin. They are only about £1 and think the sixpence is 19mm ,maybe buy one and if its suitable you can get them cheaper if you want a box of ten. Just enter quadrum capsule on ebay to see the pictures and prices. Someone on here may have another option . Welcome to the forum
  9. With dots that size there could be hundreds Maybe see if you can find another in the same place.
  10. Not for me its in the wrong place.
  11. Welcome to the forum Kev
  12. Thank you. If you ,Steve hill and the TPGs cant tell the difference in the 1937 Crown (VIP) i am glad i dont want to buy one
  13. Can anyone help ,is the one for sale a VIP ? If yes or no how do you tell the difference please ?.
  14. Yes thats what confuses me Jaggy as not got a clue about them
  15. So its not a VIP one as described in the sellers description and is just a normal £50 one ?.
  16. Says on his description only six VIP ones known .....you have two Is his a VIP proof ?. How do you tell the difference in a 1937 VIP proof and a normal proof ?.
  17. Although plenty of them they are scarce above VF. There is a decent one GVF on the LCA website ,just click on realised prices for the picture. They are the same as any 1863 but the last digit open as been discussed on this forum many times ,just type in the search box top right. Have you found a BU one
  18. Not sure what you mean there is nothing wrong with bidding four times ? People seem happy to pay around £20 for one
  19. Hi Guest. Nordle is outside doing the garden but shouted me to check the prices on ebay. Having a look you can buy them for £2 including postage. Hope that helps.
