Hi Christie. The coin pictured 1912 H penny the H stands for Heaton Mint who struck it. Most coins of just year type need to be in collectable / better condition with more detail. Such as being able to see the fingers /shield/letters etc. For that reason that one is worth nothing and if the other coins are all kept in a box together and look similar they are probably of know value. Maybe take a picture of the one you think looks the best and see if you have a penny dated 1860-1863 which may be worth something ,alternatively 1864 or 1869. Pete.

Its also interesting to find such a big difference in opinion as a full grade.I suppose as always its hard to tell from a picture but have learned the fact its a Key date and they can be weakly struck.I will be interested to see what it does sell for and will have to keep an eye out for a really nice one for myself

A post on another thread made me look at this but dont have a clue about them. Lot 2972 is a 1917 Sixpence looking at prices are they weakly struck and is this estimate cheap ?. Can anyone give an opinion on grade and price please.......if only for me to learn from Sorry i cant put the link up.

He doesnt say its rare just lists what it is and somebody thinks its worth £47.....Whats wrong with that ?.

I was only joking they wont be worth anything anyway a 1967 penny with probably a tiny difference nobody seems to have a clue what one is or probably bothered. Calling DAVE G....................

Think it just keeps the interest looking for something you have not got even if the difference is hardly noticeable. Will only cost pence to buy one and never going to be worth anything its just the looking and comparing with others. I bought a penny for 99p last week that is worth nothing to most people but had been looking for one for months Thats why i want to know..........What in crying out loud is a FINGER PENNY

I think enough people will have looked at the coin in hand prior to the auction to decide it was a really nice specimen and was described as that probably due to the Heaton mint. Mark Rasmussen has sold a F74 for a lot more described as proof as i am sure your aware. Having a look at LCA they sold one in June 2010 for £2800+.....Definately one to get in a slab Mike if it is

I think he is just a second teir seller and when you click to buy he would get a small commission , the buyer would automatticaly deal with the """" seller in hong kong. He does nothing else apart from list on there behalf with a uk account. I would think there are loads of chinese / hong kong items sold this way. Maybe i am wrong but have heard of this before ?.
