  1. Maybe it was proven as not one Hope someone can tell you a bit more
  2. i may be wrong but sure i heard one was that low grade it was never proven and written off .
  3. If the coins are quite valuable airtite do one with a foam insert 10 MM upwards 10,11,12,13 etc.
  4. You have probably seen it but one sold at LCA Lot 1303
  5. I bought quite a few from the last lot halfpennies & 1834 farthings. I sent four different types to cgs. 1841 HP Graded 85 1841 HP 80 1834 F 82 1834 F REJ VERD The grades and rejection i agree with and the one 80 although i have some better IMO was sent as a different type. However none of the ones i bought had been messed around with or worked on and as there was so many obviously some were better than others
  6. Forgetting the contents of the article..... I take my hat off to the kid. FOC advert in a national paper....fantastic PR job. Young business of the year award from EBAY. All he needed was a website and would of generated some traffic straight way. Weather he has made £50K or 50P is not the issue IMO. He has done something on his own and kicked on with it ,nothing illegal and nothing to upset anyone. Hope you read this and weather you sell coins or decide to do something else on your own i wish you all the best.
  7. I think maybe got it sorted after asking people who are into these Its a partial brockage a couple / few struck as full brockage then that broke leaving only a part. Matt (nordle) told me thats what he thought but showed it someone yesterday , i didnt give them any opinions but he said the same. Not any big deal but its been getting on my nerves and otherwise was going to post it to the RM.
  8. Hard to know what is going on in the bidders heads.....it does say COPY on it ,which should give them a bit of a clue
  9. The pictures and indicators are on......the fake pound coin database Sorry i cant put the link up but if more start to turn up is worth a look.
  10. Thought i may aswell post on this thread. They are now faking the £1 Trial that seemed popular a while ago,no doubt there will be plenty listed now
  11. Well Rob i take my hat off to you Just looking at your profile and the comments he left i could not of gone to the trouble of making such a reply.
  12. Bloody hell.......calm down a bit they are only coins. I havent a clue why you use the word NASTY You dont need to buy from the UK and just buy them from somewere else. Maybe your getting worked up about your VIP proof mistake , your comments maybe true (only you know that ) but thats the same with some people selling anything Be lucky and just buy in Canada or anywere else you may choose with dealers who are not NASTY.
  13. Its been discussed on here recently with pictures of both. Just type in aquatic in the search box.
  14. Why should it be reported ?.
  15. I looked at that when it was listed but only because the 8 in the date looked different Good luck.
  16. Yes .....Spink would not of made them IMO just had there name put on ,i would of thought it would not be worth employing people and the setting up cost. No doubt the people that did make them made them to Spink design and possibly slight differences. Although i may well be wrong You seem to have alot of these cabinets ,do you buy coins to put in them ?.
  17. I notice Mark Rasmussen has a couple of quite scarce pennies on his next list
  18. I dont think thats right ,there is know way they engraved a perfect die with a one . If there was any reason to put the one on possibly some kind of trial it would of just been puched in the coin and doubt they would of then just thrown it into circulation. If they did put the number on happy days ,although i think its just punched in PM and the kind of thing on ebay everyday.
  19. Looks more like a flaw
  20. I would leave those Newark ones alone unless from a dealer or main auction house especially if coming from Bulgaria and costing £1K plus. They could even post a picture of a real one and send you a copy which even then if your not familiar with them would need to get checked out. One to swerve IMO
  21. F26 is a reference from the Michael Freeman book. Pennies start at F1 1860 and continue to F257 1967 for all the bronze pennies in the book ....The Bronze Coinage of Great Britain The F obviously for Freeman.
  22. Yes mine is the same which makes me think all if not most will be.
  23. Dangerous these VIP coins which have been discussed recently on here. A question for you if thats ok . Why you have been collecting for such along time why have you never posted before please ?
  24. Yes i agree Mick i just wanted Coin buyer to confirm he had bought a normal one and the seller wrongly described as VIP. Sounds like the VIP thread the other week
  25. So did you receive the coin pictured ?
