  1. Believe me he knows what he is doing and has / had dozens of cgs coins although the pictures yes i forgot and he may not be able to access them. The grade though he states in the listing as F although it is not that on the holder it is only VG ,so i am not sure what you mean by quite hard to claim. All of it doesnt matter anyway just one of his normal daft listings and nobody (hopefully)is going to pay that for it
  2. As i doubt the seller will reply i have had a quick look and the cgs picture is much clearer ....... the coin is definately an open 3. I dont know why he didnt use there picture as much better and the same coin graded 10. Now all he has to do is knock £500 off and alter the grade from F to VG
  3. You can put the blame on Terry for that Stuart ,although if it had been the correct thread there would of been twice as many posts
  4. No i only meant 1915 Zoo ,dont start me off looking at them all
  5. Yes probably Rob its more the picture rather than having one in hand.Have you had any or seen any with the tooth complete or do you not bother checking them.
  6. Yes i dont believe its broken for a test that is why you find them without the broken tooth and think from memory davidrj posted one on another thread.Although i dont think there are many without part of the tooth missing and i have never been able to convince myself without the tooth indicator.
  7. The one zoo has is 1916 Terry,
  8. The coin is genuine and ok ,however the seller isnt Numerous times he has listed items with false descriptions.including fakes.I am first to defend anyone but after how he was with Dave and blatant lies he told me have know time for him.Not that he will care and he does know what he is doing but would not like someone to be had over by him To ask £600 at an auction starting price for a coin probably worth less than £100 is just daft.
  9. I dont think the top one is Ian.
  10. Yes I would think thats definately right Jerry. The same die starting late1915 (you dont see as many) and getting worse right upto the die crack on 1916.All the 1916 recessed ear have a large part of the tooth missing that i have seen and a progression of the 1915.Also a lot of the 1916 are seen in high grade which may be down to being the first struck for the year and more were put away or kept .Terrys pictures show this well and dont feel it would of been deliberate ,just it broke and they continued to use the recessed ear untill going back to the normal OBV after the die crack.I am only guessing and suppose the only way is to be sure there was only one OBV die with the recessed ear. Pete.
  11. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-Open-3-Edward-VII-Penny-Dated1903-CGS-F/323185153410?hash=item4b3f561582:g:qbUAAOSw7Vhawke4 Behave yourself
  12. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-GB-PENNY-1916-1916-Recessed-Ear-SCARCE-HIGH-GRADE-A88-RZ53/282905058900?hash=item41de749e54:g:FqcAAOSwY3RatsH1 Exactly the same die crack on another for sale Terry.
  13. Did you end up with both of them looks to be the same buyer
  14. I thought that was the maximum it was perhaps worth and was surprised you may of gone higher
  15. Why a little punt craigy its at £36 now ,how much is it going to sell for
  16. I dont know if it comes any earlier than on sale in the shops Dave as just have it posted and arrived yesterday
  17. Dont do it .....I like being the black sheep of the forum
  18. What a fantastic article ,not my thing but a big HAT OFF
  19. Whos coin is that craigy is it on some facebook thing or something else ?. IMO the initials are probably not the best indicator either. Sorry i should of looked at the thread title first They like to use the term WE untill the last sentence....Our coin has been graded NEF
  20. Worth having a look at and i was only joking but quite a big difference in what he had it listed for
  21. He will probably just make another Will
  22. This may be a daft question as i dont know anything about them Why did you buy them when other people had given you the opinion they had problems ?. Are they scarce, hard to find or were they just cheap ?
  23. i was surprised how much some items sold for Mike. Maybe in general people have bigger budgets in March ,rather than Dec being Christmas and June for the holidays at LCA. Probably not
  24. The plus side of ebay is there are coins of all denominations ,grades and varieties to suit everyone and there budget. It also gives us the opportunity to have a look at different coins for sale 24 hours a day a lot of which dealers would not bother putting on lists such as the cheaper ones that thousands of people are happy to purchase everyday.I have a look often and sometimes i spot something sometimes i dont , but i dont have to move out of the flat to have a look .It was exactly the same when i was always in Spain as apart from one shop in Gibraltar there was knowere else to have a look at them.Yes there is a lot of RANG and pictures can be deceiving , we probably factor that into how much we are prepared to pay. More often than not the best coins of a decent grade and condition are from dealers you can trust IMO and for that reason i am happy to pay a BIT more
  25. I have a mate called John who may be interested in those
