  5. Can't see anything to be honest. The 1897 dot that you're hoping for looks more like a colon dot.
  6. Happy round number 80 Boab (RLC) have a good day. (null)
  7. They always only post a few at a time, just enough too dangle the carrot

  9. Some tips from getting the best out of eBay when selling http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/selling-on-ebay
  10. There is NO live bidding with LCA
  11. No presents for you this Christmas then !!!!!Bah humbug........Scrooge
  12. The forum will always attract people who think they have a rarity only to find their bubble soon burst when asking £16,000 for a 20p coin. I very much doubt English is his first language, so we have to give him kudos for at least trying (on both counts). Speaking of questionable people, isn't Santa questionable?
  13. If only 9 coins were previously available I'd very much doubt the BM would hand any over for public purchase, at least not in the short term. They would have to die study the coins and any possible duplicates MIGHT be offloaded eventually. I believe a hoard means 10 coins found in the same hole or a proximity of a 3 meter radius, when this is the case they must be recorded and handed over to treasure trove who then will determine if they are of national importance or not. I've heard of finders waiting months or even years for an answer back on their finds, this is why now some detectorists are reluctant to involve them anymore. In other cases I've been hearing that the trove now want grid references of the finds before even bothering.
  14. But it's not a 1922 rev 1927, so give it a break.
  15. Thanks to Mr T for this useful link on the Junilee head Sovereign http://issuu.com/jammdesign/docs/jubilee_brochure/1
  16. The thumb of Britannia should extend past the lines on the shield. Look at the first one, then the other 2, the thumb is noticeably more extended
  17. I think endica is for US based customers. Doesn't Royal mail offer extra insurance £1 for each £100 value?
  18. Lol, I love his "I'll take £16,000" comment. If he gives me £50 I'll take it off his hands and dispose of it in a large hole
  19. I'm struggling to work out how the seller can list at such prices, any new ebayer who starts selling is limited to £3500 a month for a certain period of time or unless they have a certain amount of feedback. Very strange
  20. Well the P in PENNY definitely helps as I always thought the tide should be higher than the folds on the robe, but from Ians picture that's not always the case
  21. Thanks Terry and Ian, wasn't intending in a bid, more highlighting the fact I didn't think it was what the label states. Let's hope nobody goes stupid money on it or they'll be very disappointed
  22. Here is the 1897 in question, the tide is clearly below the 1st fold of the robe
  23. The reason I question is that American TPGs do make mistakes on British Pennies, the seller won't argue because the label states that it is what it is and shouldn't be argued with if it comes from a large TPG. I once corrected Notheast numismatics who had a slabbed 1895 2mm, but it wasn't and I pointed it out to them, they eventually agreed with me and said they'd contact the TPG about it
