  1. I think you'll find that the one buckscoins is selling is with WW obliterated, much rarer than the normal godless, Spink rate the obliterated at £450 in EF. dealers use Spink to price their coins and he has taken the price straight out of the book. CGS also only have a price at CGS50 for the obliterated WW which is £100 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VERY-SCARCE-1849-GODLESS-GOTHIC-FLORIN-SLABBED-CGS-EF-60-BRITISH-SILVER-COIN-/311501712125?hash=item4886f2eafd:g:-lgAAOSwxN5WaCj~
  2. No one hates dealers, more the obscene amounts they can charge compared to the price paid. One example of this is the 120k coin sold at the Spink Slaney sale now asking for 220k for the same coin, a little ridiculous IMO
  3. In my opinion the EU should be about trade and defending the borders of each country who are members, the fact the meddle into other countries laws etc is what I dislike about it. The original concept of the "common market " seems lost and needs a complete revamp
  4. There is a presumption that Turkey actual want membership when in fact they don't, and to clarify Michael' thought on immigrants all getting visas to freely move, this is also a misconception as I was at a German language school where I was studying with refugees from Iraq and Syria plus a few Americans and a few of those had relatives in other lands such as Australia and even one in Wales, they were'nt even allowed in Austria, so that can be knocked in the head, those that do actually move are the ones who become illegal immigrants....
  5. The benefit of free trade is only within Europe, opt out and there is no more free trade, importing/exporting will cost more and as the UK only really have a financial hub and not much manufacturing then you'll be importing more than exporting, possibly as a result of all this the £ could and probably weaken against other currencies and may likely end up in a rather large recession, the knock on effect we all know about. London will be ok though.. Then come the membership of NATO, the security of the U.K will become under severe pressure, just like it would have had Scotland left the Union. Be careful what you wish/vote for is all I say
  6. I guess importing will weigh heavily on the economy if it opts out. In Germany we have various krankenkassen, which you pay into every month, much like the National insurance which helps pay for the NHS but the difference is you won't get treated without your card which tells the hospitals/doctors/dentists that you are paying into it. In my opinion the system is failing by letting Tom Dick and Harry be treated as a tourist without appropriate insurance. Anyway, this will end up like the indy referendum in favour of the Government as big Dave doesn't want too leave, America doesn't want you too leave, i'll go with a 55%-45% for staying.....
  7. Well, if You can't Beat them, join them
  8. It has surprised me that he is selling up the collection, but he hasn't participated much on the forum for quite some time. Hopefully accumulator enjoys the fruits of his labour, will certainly miss his input and the coins he bought from time to time, will the reference website still be live after selling?
  9. This phenomenon isn't just on eBay, this will go for any auction house online or otherwise.
  10. Hopefully some of you penny boys will have your cheque books at the ready
  11. Bill is actually a really fair minded guy, very articulate with his responses. He came onto The Forum about 18 months ago and took every shot everyone on here gave him and replied to mostly everything we wrote which ended up with 15 Pages. hopefully he took some of the concerns back to CGS, but i have only admiration for sticking to his principles and explaining his Point of view in The manner he did in The Face of so much shit by so many on here.
  12. P.s it's an 1895 2mm proof penny
  13. Funnily enough i just came across this http://dyn1.heritagestatic.com/lf?set=path%5B1%2F3%2F8%2F2%2F6%2F13826387%5D&call=url%5Bfile%3Aproduct.chain%5D
  14. Best to grade yourself, that way if it's overgraded and therefor expensive You only have yourself to blame, or if you're selling something on ebay just don't mention a grade, let the buyer decide with good pictures. It's a whole can of worms.

  18. And there's no need to be snooty, I was adding my OWN opinion. If you also notice, i never said not to Do it, You Do As you See fit, civility costs nothing and there's no need to be arsey with The reply.
  19. I thought most people kept records of when/where and how much they paid for their coins without having to add that personal info onto a forum. Also, you don't need to invest in your own website to show off your coins, if you click on my signature link it will take you to omnicoin which is a website to host all of your collection. Anyway, just my opinion, disregard if required
  20. I thought we had a coin aquisitiin of the week thread for things like this, if we all did the same then it becomes a contest to keep personal threads alive. Not my thing I'm afraid
  21. Funnily enough Rockerfella and Rothschild sold all their oil assets 2 years ago when the oil price was at its peak. These are the people who are influencing and dictating wars and the global economy, they both stated they wanted to invest in renewable energy. Then we have Gadaffi, oil price is sold in US dollars, Gadaffi wanted to start selling in Dinar, why is there war in Syria, because the rich American families was to drill in the Gollan heights. Did you realise that the Bush family is the most influential family in America? Went to war twice in Iraq by both Bush Sr and Junior, now Jeb Bush is on the presidential trail, it makes you wonder which country is next and how one family can have 2 former presidents in it and a possible 3rd. The oil market is being flooded to keep the price low because some countries such as Russia rely on the revenue, if it's weak then they don't have much cash. Now America have made a fragile truce with Iran, Iranian oil was banned from being sold on the western markets, now with the truce in place Iran is now allowed too sell it again which in turn will drop the price even more. There is more to what we see other than a huge and sudden influx of new oil fields, this is a game that's being played out by major money players and most of them are in America. http://youtu.be/7KsxT3woFdw P.s, I have nothing against our American friends here, I'm just saying that something is getting played out by people who can influence Governments and markets and it seems most of them are in America
  22. Let see how well catawiki works.. The following coin is listed here http://simonwilliscoins.com/products/coin-details.aspx?id=S2556 and also on catawiki here http://auction.catawiki.com/kavels/4184733-great-britain-england-groat-1560-1561-elizabeth-i-silver We don't miss a trick on this forum Mr Willis ? I see he also has a halfgroat listed on both sites, is there a reserve setting on catawiki? Anyone tried it?

If You also have some Photo editing software, You can easily crop away The unused background. Nice coin
  24. In Theory The G over O Must have happened near the year change or thereabouts as There is a 1677/8 with The Same problem, if You want to call it a Problem that is.
  25. I wouldn't touch them either, it either appeals or you leave it alone, it won't get better being artificially improved
