Not sure who does the grading Rob, but he said he'd sent 19 in for grading on the old format, so I'd have to assume not...

I was speaking to the eBay seller goldgiinea who slabs most of his stuff with CGS, he was telling me that he has been given exemption from the £499 fee and is an elite member, he has had fewer coins slabbed than Bill, so I've no idea how CGS are picking and choosing who is exempt and who's not.

Totally agree with this point Paul, but then again, Semra seems quite the hard head and her stubbornness could swing things into the abyss. I don't think this has finished yet, not for a while at least. If they don't receive many submissions due to the new price/submission model then there could be various variants of it...

Pete, the conversation was between various people on a platform that has 1 billion members, so allowing you to read it would make that 1 billion and 1 As Paulus has also been quoting Bill in previous posts (without any moaning from you) i don't see any problems, the reason i sent a screenshot was that i was using my phone and couldn't copy and paste, you don't see Bills name anywhere in the screenshot... Anyway, back to the £499 charge. The downside i can see is that £499 is basically a coin purchase, only those who might slab regularly and with high quantity might use it, but for others who simply want to buy coins i think they might shy away from it as they see it as a coin purchase instead, Bill has also stated that he isn't going to be sending anymore to CGS right now until they resolve all the issues, and Bill is CGS man through and through, he still likes how they grade but not the issues right now...

Apparently Bill Pugsley is NOT exempt from the wrath of Semra, he has slabbed 4000 coins with CGS and has just mentioned he has to pay the fee. Also another problem has arisen when you have to submit to an agent, you post to the agent and the agent posts to CGS and again in reverse, so that will incur 4x postal charges, it's going well already

Yes, the process is fairly quick, once you see your grades on the PCGS website you'll have your coins back within 7-10 days. I'm sending 3 more into Paris for the grading week from the 13th-17th Jume, I'll probably see them back by the end of June, turnaround is much quicker than CGS or NGC.

I had a similar timescale problem, where i had maybe 2 weeks from the Munich fair joined the PCGS club, the voucher arrived by post but i didn't have it in hand when i went to the fair, they took my submissions and she wrote on my sun=bmission form that the voucher hadn't arrived, about 1 week later i had an email from them asking if the voucher had arrived (which it had) and i scanned it in and forwarded it onto them. You have a shorter timescale, so it might be tight, but you'd still at least be able to submit your coin, and if you have to pay this time, then next time you'll have the next 4 free. The next Paris grading week will be September and it might be more realistic that you will have 4 coins to send them along with your voucher. I'd just pay for the one this time and look out another 4 for the September submission

Sounds a little cheaper than £499 if you ask me. PCGS have a grading week in Paris from the 13th June till the 17th, cut off date for submissions is the 15th, you'll have it back within 10 days from that point.....

I joined the PCGS club this year, i took the gold option and submitted 5 coins at the coin fair in Munich, being honest, to slab just one coin it would not be beneficial, but if you were thinking of doing more then economically it would make a little more sense. You can go onto the PCGS.com website and join from there with credit card, you'll then get a membership number, or else you can download the submission form from the PCGSeurope site and tick the box to also become a member, no membership means you CANNOT submit coins

I.m still unsure as to why they'd even invent an "elite membership" surely if you take an old beaten car to a garage the garage owner won't turn it away just because a Ferrari is sitting next to it, not everyone wants to slab hundreds of coins a year and you have to eat a bit of bread and butter even though you want a steak. They'll be offering special labels next at £20 a pop on top of your grading and elite fees...... Clock is ticking on their downfall, their own stupidity, they think they're all grown up now and can tackle PCGS and NGC
