  1. In that case my original post stands. I've never seen a blue box for this crown
  2. Sorry - crossed wires. I know about the blue "set" but for some reason got it into my head there was a blue box like the green and red/burgundy ones.
  3. Well done for asking, if you feel the need to torment them some more, why not also enquire about the 1951 + box colours - does Blue actually exist, and the 1965 Churchill satin finish Should give someone in the RM at least a minor migraine!
  4. If you tried with an image, and then tried to add a smaller image, the forum would remember and not let you. Try replying with the smaller image (Oh and Hi and welcome !)
  5. Mostly pretty worthless even if not 'burial green' these days as so many have been found.
  6. My green one is slide-out but I was eyeing a half decent (green) one in a lidded box a couple of weeks ago. Not seen a blue one show up ever.
  7. I was thinkning about this yesterday, I'm not entirely sure how good it woulld be if the rotation is off a couple of degrees or for variants like cabinet friction, general circulation wear and lighting. I guess I can have a go and see what happens when the nights draw in a bit more.
  8. A fool and their money... never a truer saying.
  9. Jeton of some ilk perhaps?
  10. Yes, and Yes, and probably then gone on ebay in a stupor and only realised later when the postman arrives.
  11. Wish I'd bought a dozen now
  12. Blimey o.O thats one of the pitfalls of being a newbie round here.. figuring out who isn't a rogue on ebay I'll post my apologies now then, Sorry John! (oh and if I hadn't just done 300 on a stater, I'd have had this!)
  13. Is it a bargain or somewhat less than savoury.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1853-Victoria-Gothic-florin-NVF-old-cleaning/352209815038?hash=item52015745fe:g:tXAAAOSwv-ZaCzpp
  14. Really nice, that one Zoo!
  15. Blimey, I can learn new things (and reassuringly my wife is wrong - I don't know everything ;))
  16. Likewise, and if it isn't I've probbaly flogged them off dirt cheap as "foreign"
  17. Its a thistle below the bust. The George III's all look absolutely fine, no idea on the small hammered (not my thing at all - although I love to find them :)) -the big one looks remarkably like a really bad Lizzie 1st. 200 quid? No way.
  18. This is seriously nice!
  19. Is this a new variant? Sorry, been to the pub lol
  20. So.. a Real Vicky, the Slabbed CCCS Vicky and the Aliexpress (which looks more convincing than the CCCS one..) Much apologies for my rudimentary crayon skills, I need to change and head to the pub!
  21. Her nose looks just like the replica/restrikes from aliexpress... or do I need my glasses on again? (and who are CCCS?) 22. I haven't had the opportunity to get my hands on a Gothic, but this (practice of restrike/repro/copy/ripoff etc.) is seriously going to make the task of getting a genuine one much harder, so if you have one I guess the rule of thumb is now either slab it or ensure you have a decent set of dcos to go with it.
  23. There were no initials on the second head, 1839-1863 though, so you may be looking for something that isn't there. (Fox Mulder wants to believe too!)
