  1. Thats a nice page of coins zoo
  2. My thoughts are with his family at this time. His passion for Roman coins is not lost on me.
  3. Natural light and plastic capsules doesn't do the modern coinage any favours, but then modern coinage isn't that pretty to start with.
  4. I agree, it's not an "error", it's a malfunction. It's definitely not in the same league as the later Vicky B/R RITT examples.
  5. I'd be happy its a fair listinng, and price. There is another currently at £3 odd and some others from 75, 100 and more on there.
  6. I guess I should add .. "catch up on virgin, not sure about sky". On virgin, search for detectorists and explore the show,->episodes-> watch from catch up. On sky..... [hopefully someone else can fill in the blanks]
  7. It's available on catch up, there's a possibility it would cause some confusion if you don't see it before the new series.
  8. If this happens, I find the easiest cure is to reload the page (press F5 or click "refresh") . This makes the page forget what it thought it knew
  9. Doesn't he just mean "50 pence pieces"
  10. Her head is too low..... I just don't get the how or what!!!
  11. And no spoilers please - I'm away until Friday when I'll get to see it
  12. Does this qualify as an entrant for this thread? (Guess who's been looking at pennies again....)
  13. I have a couple of really bad ones I was looking at last night, some with a droopy last 7 and some all in a line and even. I figured from google and ebay images that it's pretty common - and if I have 2, that means they can't be worth much lol!
  14. The cleaning doesn't look historical enough for my liking, tops a tenner and a boiled egg.
  15. What does the reverse look like?
  16. Well, go me. Just looked through about 200000000000 ebay churchill coins and the one I'm thinking is odd is actually the norm, and the one I refer to as "tidy" is the odd one. So I guess it's time I got new glasses. I'll get my coat.
  17. This seller is offloading loads of different ones https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/itsthelick/m.html?item=152734720203&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  18. Should have scratched them with the ViGtoria
  19. Perhaps they'll save that for the polymer £50
  20. Aye, I'm hoping for some form of direction on why it looks quite so different ( and also so nice, considering this has to be the number 1 fugly coin going!)
  21. No idea caigy, these aren't even close to my faves (George III, IV and viccy silver) so I'm truly out of my depth.
  22. left = circulated, midlle is a tidy example, and right is the oddity.
  23. I enjoy a bit of ebay buying, although I do treat it with the contempt it deserves, trying to hit things with low "pot-shot" bids to see if I can bag an absolute bargain.
  24. Well, other than ever so slightly less finger grease, it looks identical, although struggling to get a shot which shows just how different it is to the others.
