  1. It certainly is. Even though I suggested a die clash I couldn't quite make it fit, but the rotation explains it nicely.
  2. Looks like a die clash to me. Top of Britannia's legs?
  3. So the rest of us might have half a chance now?
  4. If it was me I'd be having a refund regardless of the outlay. If I buy a coin I want the one pictured.
  5. The one place I didn't expect to get a Cardiff and complete my set was at the Midland Coin Fair. Given to me in change by a dealer who had trays of them for sale.
  6. Who are you Pete? How come you get first crack at EVERYTHING?
  7. I don't like the new colours. Far too bright and cheerful.
  8. Oh. Well why didn't you say that in the first place?
  9. Cheers Pete, he's got some nice ones there. I might treat meself.
  10. Actually think differently - I'd take the different penny and you'd buy a groat or something.
  11. Stuntman writes faster than me...
  12. It's easily started, if you think about it. For example, the pennies of 1918 and 1919 have three (quite significant IMO) varieties with the Heaton (H), Kings Norton (KN) or no mint marks. So, do you just want any one, or one of each? I'm a one of each person myself. Then you get things like the 1902 low and high tide pennies. Ok, I'd best have one each of those too please. Gradually the differences get smaller and smaller down the line until people start calling flaws, clogged dies and suchlike varieties (I'm not saying that's wrong, but where I draw the line I think.) So, how about you? One of each or any old one?
  13. Hi Dave and welcome. Can you upload it to a site such as Photobucket and post a link?
  14. Well done. I can thoroughly recommend this recipe for spiced pickled runner beans. I've made one batch this year already.
  15. Was that for a set of 6 (or however many) the same or longest? I do like a runner bean. Good work.
  16. How do you tell the difference please? I thought it was an edge knock too.
  17. Since I am now bereft of Olympics I suppose I'd better see what's been going on here. Have I missed much?
  18. Nice bit of provenance Pete, I like that.
  19. So, err, paper over the cracks, so to speak?
  20. Marvellous. How do we remove gilt then?
  21. This your 1920 3d obverse?
  22. No, I mean what was it, not what was it made of. Just a pattern farthing that someone has gilded?
  23. There is a ship. Assuming then, that this has been "adjusted" post mint, what was it to start with?
