  1. It's Nepalese I think. 5 paisa.
  2. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-2010-11-Capital-City-London-Belfast-Edinburgh-Cardiff-1-Coin-Set-Circulated-/282035843945 No bids yet, not long to go, £5 + £2 postage.
  3. Dave, the Edinburgh coin is the most difficult to acquire I believe. As a set, you should be looking at no more than £6 + postage if you really can't wait for them to turn up in your change. If you like to play on Facebook, see if you can join the group "English coins for sale and wanted" and ask on there. You should be able to get them pretty quickly. Personally, I would rather wait until they turn up in my change. I got a Belfast one yesterday.
  4. These 'uns Nordle. You won't get them in that there Spain.
  5. I asked the question. Response: " HiNot entirely sure myself whether this is a made up set or an original issueSorry cant be more helpfulKind regards "
  6. And furthermore: " ONE OUNCE OF COPPER WORTH 2 PENCE " Scales broken?
  7. Well that's encouraging at least.
  8. It's just not good enough, is it Pete?
  9. Yes. And CGS (UIN 26554 - another "11 leaf" that's actually a 10).
  10. Just hypothetical Pete. There are a couple of lots that interest me but have no photos. I am therefore entirely reliant on the accuracy of LCA's description as I cannot make the trip to look at these. This makes me a little uncomfortable, especially as I've not successfully bought from them before. Do you find that they are usually reliable?
  11. Fingers crossed for you! Look forward to you posting a triumphant result.
  12. It gives me less confidence in bidding, especially given the number of lots without pictures. Presumably you can return items that have been incorrectly attributed, but what if you disagree with the grade?
  13. I know, and I'm only half your age.
  14. Because they're professionals so I expect them to get it right and not make basic errors.
  15. Pete I've never forgotten it since you emailed me the photos. But I tend to start doubting myself when I'm questioning what I'm seeing in an auction house listing.
  16. I can see the eleventh leaf quite clearly on the example you've posted Rob, but I don't know what you mean about the raised / incuse dots. Can't make 'em out at all. Edit: Yes I can now. So there are two types of 11 leaf, with the three dots raised / incuse?
  17. Sorry Rob, yes I knew that. Just didn't understand Pete's reply - 'twas a bit cryptic. The question I was asking was have LCA got the ID wrong on lot 3132? Looking at the ribbon I'd have said it was a 10 leaf, but they've got it listed as an 11.
  18. Pete, she's lovely. When you've had your failing eyesight checked, can you tell me is lot 3132 not actually a 10 leaf?
  19. Pete, you need to look at the REVERSE!
  20. I couldn't say I dislike that. Still not something I'd be likely to buy though.
  21. Cheer Rob, that's much more helpful than Nordle. To me then, a curiosity, but not something I'd consider spending lots of cash on. As usual though, one question begets another (and I realise I'm taking the thread off-topic somewhat, sorry) - I didn't know about early and late Soho issues. How would one know which was which please? Cheers, Jon
  22. Lot 2242: "Halfpenny 1797 Pattern Bronzed Copper Restrike Peck 1173 R61 nFDC attractively toned, probably rarer than Peck states, indeed we have only offered one previous example, this in June 2006 and realised £220 in UNC, this easily the superior piece (£500 - £600)" Sorry if I'm being a bit thick, but what does it mean by restrike please?
  23. Look at the sold listings copper, it's far from a freak result. If it's a cartwheel, it will sell.
  24. I think you'd be surprised Peter. I see even worn, beat-to-hell examples selling so wouldn't be surprised to see that go for more than scrap. Look at this for example.
