  1. That looks a lot better Mick. As i said to small an amount for verdicare
  2. Yes maybe Brogan just wants to do everyones head in Alternatively maybe list for £1,000,000 on ebay
  3. As an afterthought from reading your post. Just because the verd is removed CGS will still reject for cleaning and corrosion. Although you have know interest its not just a case of we cant see the verd so know its ok. Its not just about marks but the tell tale signs under different light of chemicals/ work done. I can assure you they dont just look at a coin in hand . This post is probably more for Mick As has obvious signs of being cleaned.
  4. All the lot does not look right comparing it with one. Even looks thicker but that might be as i have not got my glasses on
  5. The price was right its one i swapped for a half sovereign a few months ago although the sovereigns (scrap) went up just after. I dont keep any duplicates and would sooner pass them on if i have a better one. Hopefully Paul will be keeping it
  6. Fantastic Job Jerry and hat off
  7. Think in MIcks specific requirements ....will it still slab. Its not what most collectors would be happy with or in Micks case weather CGS would still reject it. I remember you bought a 1862 Half penny date you were going to work at from the Copthorne Collection. Did you ever do anything or left it as it was Jerry ?. I know your the expert (always read your opinions) and for that reason would love to see a picture. Pete.
  8. Your UNC might be lustered ROB of which for that year dont exist really. As i mentioned i said NICE that does not mean UNC so please read instead of being sarcastic. Nice is nicely toned and problem free but obviously you want better ?. I Didnt say UNC.
  9. Sorry to bring an old thread up . Been selling a lot of Pennies / varieties (some scarce) and just been looking at a post with regards varieties. Decided a while ago to concentrate on quality coins of key dates. These are for me and nothing to do with my cgs collection of pennies that are put away. Maybe i will get bored again in the future but believe certain dates of denominations will always be sought after if in high grade . Pete.
  10. Possibly Dave although a lot of the copper varieties that are not recognised and some even in unc 1854 you can pick up at a similar price than an 1860 F10. However leaving the varieties and proofs out not lots of dates 1825/60 but people dont seem to collect like the bronze. You could buy a nice 1831,34,37 for the same price as a really low grade scarce variety bronze £500/600 ish.
  11. Didnt know you collected the coppers Mike ,really interesting series but some hard to find in top grade IMO. Surprised there is not more collectors of them as lots of penny collectors seem to just focus on the bronze .
  12. For a tiny spot verdicare seems a bit drastic IMO. Plenty Ebay sellers have it listed
  13. Not a problem and thank you. Will send you a PM when its posted as obviously will be a few days
  14. Not any use to me. How about £90 including special delivery
  15. Hope you mean fanny craddock
  16. Have a good christmas and all the best for the new year to everyone on the forum. Above all be lucky and keep smiling Pete.
  17. There are always going to be better ones and more than recorded as some collections are kept privately. If ten are known of an example there is not going to be less and the numbers can only go up like the 1862 Three plumes
  18. Noticed a couple of scarce pennies in the next LCA. Hopefully part of a collection and a few more will be listed
  19. That makes it an even better find So glad it turned up for you as it would of done my head in.
  20. Stupid thing above wont delete. Hat off Terry and glad you got it safely one i have not got and well bought
  21. Not having a clue about them. What is the difference please in frosted or not ?.
  22. Wish i had known Rob you could of picked mine up
  23. Not sure about that. The house i have over there has a big garage on the ground floor.......was two feet under water a couple of weeks ago Mates of mine who have lived there since the eighties tell me its the worse they have ever seen.
  24. Not much to see Dave torrential rain and hailstone
