  1. Is it them saying it or are they just listing the grading companies attribution ?. Thousands are being graded every week ,so dealers will use this to there advantage and describe what it says on the label. The problem can worsen as dealers also start to use as a grade description on raw coins IMO.
  2. Go on............gifts ,finds or swaps...........................
  3. The guy who posted though even used the ebay pitch...... " recently moved house and rediscovered a tin of old coins i have had since year dot " Really hyped it up
  4. Think mine have been open two long or i need to change my glasses. Time to close them for a few hours
  5. Looking again Kev if its 1916 i am now doubting weather it is...this is what i was trying to say on the other thread that the ear is easier in hand or pictured next to another to compare. Normally the tooth on the 1916 you can tell at a glance. Nobody has corrected me YET so interested to know
  6. Yes looking at the full obverse picture it does not look as noticable as most 1916 .
  7. The thread is 18 months old Mark and he only posted once
  8. Yes Richard as i mentioned there are others i suppose for everything we all look at different indicators first. The recessed ear Kev as its only just broken is it 1915 ?.
  9. Thats no use i dont drink.....will just have the drugs instead
  10. Forget all the ripples & plume Kev OBV 2 ...Colon close to both A:B between GRA & BRITT OBV i.....Gap to both A:B REV A.... No rim & First i in date to Tooth REV B.....Rim & First 1 in date to gap There are others but they are the ones i use first
  11. I read this thread with interest as found it hard to find a good one 1915 Recessed ear and then like most things two turned up at once. Most of the 1915 tend to be weakly struck which one was although that had better lustre. The one i sent to CGS for Freyas collection has part of the tooth missing(couple of tiny spots but not verd) and as i mentioned in a previous thread find it much easier to tell and be sure. Pete.
  12. No leave the silly questions up....I do all the time
  13. Yes maybe Jamie and perhaps put the handbrake on , although i can understand you want to buy some rather than look at pictures. Can i ask what you bought please or maybe some pictures ? There are also shows that allow you to look at all types of coins.I dont have a clue were you live but one at Birmingham(although that was today)and Wakefield every month. Pete.
  14. I dont know anything about the coin but fantastic pictures....HAT OFF
  15. Yes Michael although its a pity its not got a HOLE as that one is scarcer
  16. Its to late now . I have been up all night breaking them all out
  17. Thats ok Peck. I think it was the initial shock and am now able to condole myself with the happy memories
  18. Looking again could this not just be a flaw in the flan as a scratch would show over the top of the letters. Or maybe it does and i just cant see it . Can someone tell me what it is please as its bugging me
  19. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/One-Penny-1934-Spectacular-Minting-Error/312104695992?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 Is this the missing waves variety please ?.
  20. Yes its such a shame that they have added another letter on the ticket and all my others are looking so much out of place
  21. Something that appears to be underneath is actually at the top of the die ?. If that makes sense
  22. Yes.Such a shame and sure they will miss your valued custom
