  1. Is the panel to the right a holder for your phone or a display? Looks like a nifty bit of kit, any pros and cons compared to the GoPro?
  2. Hence the mountains I suppose, such nice views. The green really reminds me of home. Do you think that area is on whatever the Chinese equivalent of Tripadvisor is then? I say that because Barca has an absolute plethora of Chinese tourists and probably 90% are all going and seeing the same things, eating the in same restaurants and buying the same souvenirs because of one very popular tourist guide. One restaurant has a queue about 50m long every day and everyone waiting is Chinese. Even the local churrería has learnt a handful of phrases to impress the literal hundreds of Chinese customers they have daily, it's funny to see them look in surprise when the overweight, 70 year old Catalan man selling them churros says 'How many do you want' in Mandarin
  3. Stunning views, you'd be forgiven to think that was Canada..
  4. Definitely not wrong, been stung a few times like that when the picture is tilted!
  5. That ones Bob's I believe The one that Brian was bidding on I would probably value about 150-200 as its a little bit better than the usual, I wouldn't have been miffed to get it around that price.
  6. Spotted by 6 people, definitely always difficult
  7. Yeah that finished quite cheap considering the grade. A good buy for whoever got that.
  8. In poor taste John, not inappropriate.
  9. Good eye Brian but hard luck what did it end up on out of interest?
  10. That was a bit unfair, I didn't expect that from you as John says the whole point of a forum is to discuss, he made a good point on the subject and your retort was in poor taste.
  11. That's my problem because they pop out and straight onto the floor
  12. You'll get them out one day, I'll bet on it Quadrums I do like, but find it hard getting the coin out easily without touching either face, because the edges are held in the foam. Although they do hold a coin nicely. I prefer lighthouse capsules, mainly because of the trays I've got though.
  13. No you're not wrong, although I'm thinking pre-changes as that's when Paul originally sent his coins out. Before they merged with LCA the verification service was free and available to all, however it's a £99 fee to use this service now. This is definitely one of the biggest 'shoot yourself in the foot' moves from them because they're effectively rendering themselves a member only club, which at the moment doesn't have a big enough customer base to warrant being member only. I buy a few CGS slabbed coins here and there and looking them up using the UIN was such a great tool, I probably would even pay a little for it but definitely not £99 just to view coins. You're probably right too Alan, I bet insurers love pre slabbed collections, especially ones where you can look up the value.
  14. Of course, I mean most of us on here already do that for people who post anyway, but I think you're too knowledgable on the subject. What I mean is that you know your coins/grades/dealers/TPGs etc, but for someone who is relatively new and they don't know dealers or collectors who they can trust, what do you do? TPGs are great for that and that's basically what Paul's saying. Don't get me wrong Alan, I wouldn't use a TPG because I don't need to, I also break out slabbed coins because they don't fit in the collection, but I can see the benefit. RE the waiting time, definitely it's far too long. If I had to slab, the waiting time would stop me from submitting to CGS.
  15. London Coins Extremely Expensive Coin Grading Services
  16. LCEECGS I believe
  17. Paul does make a valid point, he wants a service that can verify his coins as he's buying them, further confirming his assumption of grades and of problem free coins, and that CGS at the time were the cheapest. If there is any real reason to slab a coin aside from trying to increase it's value, this is it! It's no different to having a car check service - you pay for someone to confirm that the car is problem free and not hiding anything you can't see easily, the value doesn't increase on the car but you're paying for the verification and peace of mind.
  18. I moved it to the TPG discussions section, seemed more apt. Oh and £499.... ARE THEY HAVING A LAUGH?
  19. @Chris Perkins
  20. No ideas! It's something Chris has to look at, I also get the same errors trying to amend my profile, or anyone else's either..
  21. Some thorough work there, Ian. Thinking out loud... it could be that the letter punch itself was damaged, each successive use chipping away at that tail? It would explain why on each hub the digits have almost the exact same damage on both 4s. It does seem strange that all of the 4s match and there is no discrepancy between the two..
  22. That's decent holiday time, luckily we get 28 here and 12 bank holidays, but I think the standard is around 23 in Spain. So all-in-all you've got about about 60 days holiday not bad
  23. Your pictures are much better than the sellers. That tone though... Yes please.
  24. Excellent new images! Much more detail, the obverse is especially nicer in the new photos.
