  1. All posts show the same number and are all updated each time you make a post. The system isn't telling you what post that is in terms of "Post 100 out of 500" it's just telling you how many posts that user has made on the site, so it will always show the highest number on every post.
  2. Every post in every thread will show the same post number - your current one. Everytime you post, your post count will increase everywhere, on your profile and in every previous post in every thread, so it will always show your highest post count. Although I don't understand the 399 part, as my posts are 2000+, does it show as 399 on your screen or is that just an example?
  3. Sorry last addition - I've recalculated your post count in the system and it still shows as 1,239 so should be OK.
  4. Also if I understand correctly, do you mean that each post should show which number post it was? Because it should always show your current number of posts, regardless if it's your first or 1,000th (in reference to what you were saying about 1949Threepence)
  5. I had this thread open while I was looking into it, then an update came up saying you had replied to the thread.. Before I clicked it I noted you were on 1,238, now it says 1,239 so I think it's working fine?
  6. Basically the grouping system is an on-action change as opposed to being run in the background and recalculated automatically. What that means is that everytime a user performs an action on their account, it updates by one group level. So if you have 5000 posts when you're in NRG, when you log in and click on all activity or something it will update your account and bump your rank to the first new level, then the next action you peform will push you to the next and so on. For most people, just clicking on a few threads will update you to the correct rank, it shouldn't be more than 5-10 clicks around the forum before it's set. Unfortauntely it means that everyone remains in Numismatic Research Group until they log in.
  7. But what's all this extra money for? At the moment the only thing you suggest needs to be 'expanded' is the picture size, which no one else seems to have an issue with? The site already gets many pictures uploaded everyday, there's plenty of information to help and if anyone needs more they just need to upload a picture of their own, everyone on here contributes and there is seldom an unanswered question. Not to mention all the pictures, varieties, information, grading etc can be found in the books linked across the site, these are all owned by the owner of the site too.
  8. Sorry I forgot about you, Colin!
  9. Hmm. I'd go PM I guess, the mark is a bit too stamp-like. Interesting though! Nice dot penny too
  10. Is there any sign of a mark on the reverse in the same place? On the ear error that is
  11. Good point, so he does. Then you've answered your own question A nice find and in a really nice grade for the rarity too!
  12. I know it's 11 years late, but maybe something to implement?

  14. @Rob @declanwmagee @mhcoins @NRP @The Coinery @RLC35 please see above RE coin dealers. Pass the word onto anyone I missed.
  15. The group and rank system for the forum. Sticked for visibility.
  16. Just sent you one OK, see if it'll let you reply in it.
  17. 403 error, permission denied?
  18. But seriously that journalist has written a bunch of rubbish.
  19. Are "coppied and pasted from the independant" the mistakes?
  20. Like 'full-fledged'
  21. Lucky yours is grey then
  22. There you go a bit better. Although there is another further along called 'Veteran' maybe that'll get the chop too..
  23. Its hard thinking of names alright! Maybe a poll and suggestion thread to decide the groups.. Nothing is set in stone of course
  24. Hmm. They look ok on the computer, are a bit fuzzy on the iPad and that part isn't even a feature on mobile When I've sorted it I'll sticky a post about the post counts/groups so you can see what's what. The old post count system went to 1000, I thought it would be a good time to update it as pretty much all the regulars are past that anyway, the coloured group badges I was just trying to spice things up a bit, it also makes it easier to see who's who for new people. To any dealers - There will be a new group called Coin Dealers that you can be moved into so that it shows under your name and also is in a different colour to everyone else's, to help others distinguish who's a dealer and also that they're trusted by the forum. I think it'll be good for new people who join up and it can't hurt to advertise your business either! Send me a PM if you want in on the action, you just need to have a direct link to your site in your signature to make things easier, and obviously Chris will have the final yay or nay.
  25. Just making some changes, so if something goes weird just give it a few minutes.
