  1. I wonder if this was one of the last lists before he moved to the states to work for a gradeing house the "sale " would be a sensable thing to get in a few bob before the move. I thing if hes still alive he would be around 90-95 years old now
  2. Funny thing is I have a couple of old lists and some prices of coins he sold are cheaper now than when he sold them 40 years ago - they really were a dreadfull "Investment" not in all cases obviously one of the worst performers is a 1895 YH farthing in general the older and rarer the better the investment they were.
  3. Don't hope for much from any carboots sale I just find pocket holiday change .
  4. It looks a little strange when all a dealers stock grades at BU
  5. Better to give her a smack with a rolling pin like andy capp
  6. Wonder how he grades a genuine BU coin ? Possably passes it on to another dealer

  9. Hi just back from lidl I bought a rather large magnifyer which though advertised as ideal for craft work is actually brilliant for coins its available for £19.99 but if you use the voucher from the metro or mail last weekend you get £5 off a £20 shop so effectively 25% off . Great for those of us whos sight is not as good as it was
  10. I must admit having a soft spot for french soft cheese , not as high in fat as most cheese as well
  11. A cheap freeman 530 would be great for me or a vf mule farthing
  12. Should have been easy to spot no anne patterns for 1711 are known
  13. I dont think the quarter farthing was ever legal tender in the uk , but the half farthing certainly was if only for a few years.
  14. There were farthings circulateing in Queen Anne's time they were both Charles II and William III and william and mary farthings of 1694. While anne farthings were not ment to circulate a few did, mostly dated 1714 just like the william and mary metalets often found very worn from that era.
  15. well i am pretty sure that figure is more right than 70% Maybe our exports are 20% counted as a reverse and really we import 27%
  16. Another of her great boobs was telling the tory conference we import 70% of our cheese (it is in fact 7%) a quick check on google would have told her she was making an idiot of herself in front of millions . Maybe we should rename her the tory dianne abbot
  17. I would have a stab at the rose farthings - there are many options though and its only a matter of opinion Amazing after all these years we are not sure exactly how they were made
  18. I cannot help but think everything is ONE BIG MESS
  19. Does not mean they were not produced alongside other currency issues . Remember at the time a commemorative issue was being produced every 25 years
  20. Like you just said a unloved coin not wanted by the british public. Left to rot in a jar unwanted and unloved , worth less than a farthing used to be .
  21. I never flash my willy about willy nilly. Too scared LOL. Seriously when it comes to facebook etc , it just seems some people are a bit thick . Why bother with the darn thing it just ruins friendships and causes trouble .
