  1. Here is another one! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1897-Queen-Victoria-Penny-Rare-Freeman-F148-variety-SNo05310/331582245975?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D36823%26meid%3Dd21a9c824aa
  2. I think they have used more light than you.
  3. Paulus, Great pictures of some beautiful coins! Good job!

    any ideas?

    Put me down for VF!
  5. Try this link. http://www.trovesoftware.com/ It should lead you too the site.
  6. Ian, Here is the coin inventory software, I have used for years. http://www.trovesoftware.com/mainorder.html It is available for just about any operating system, and is very reasonable. For World Coins you would probably want Elite v6.26. There is another version that has all USA coins, and values pre-loaded...v17.53. The v 17.53 can also be used for World Cons.. You can load pictures of each of your coins if you wish. The program is very user friendly.
  7. It's called "free market" Dave! Ha,Ha! after a dealer buys it for 120k, surely if he's paying that then it's already at market value. You are right about market value pricing...the last sale is the market price, at the time...until the next sale...then the next sale becomes the market value!
  8. It's called "free market" Dave! Ha,Ha!
  9. Peter, You are right about the Irish Americans...I'm married to one! I am told the St Patrick's Day Parade in Chicago is bigger than the one in Dublin (they also turn the Chicago River green for the occasion), Ha,Ha! I am going to get Chris's Ireland book also.
  10. It appears to me to be Obv 2 + Rev D on both examples. Both of the examples have cracks that go slightly below the N in Penny, but the Obverse example without the crack at the upper wreath, only has a faint crack below the N, while the other example has a much bigger crack. As for the doubled A in Victoria...I have never seen a N/Z that doesn't show that feature. In fact I also use that as a identifier on worn reverse examples. Interesting stuff.....
  11. My examples (2) have all the die cracks that yours do, plus I have a early, and a later Obverse strike, as noted by the die crack at the top of the wreath, and the lack of the die crack on the 2nd example. All of the examples shown earlier only show the die crack at the top of the wreath.
  12. I have two of the N/Z Pennies, and both have the rotated "R".
  13. Happy Birthday Davidrj! Many Happy Returns of the Day!
  14. Terry and BCC, Here is one that I found that is just like Terry's. A little worn, but still there!
  15. David, Here is about the same thing. You can just see part of the "O" but the "N" is completely gone.
  16. Jerry, What is the difference between the two N/Z Reverses? I have a MS64 and a AU55, but they both look like the same Reverse. Both have a die crack from the edge up through the Shield, and also another from the edge, down thru the N and Y of Penny. Do you have a pic of the Rev 2* ?
  17. What year is it Nordle?
  18. I sold 10 of the 20 Balboa Proof Coins (incapsulated) about 2 years ago. They were part of my Brother-in-laws estate. I don't have any now.
  19. The 20 Balboa's were also issued in single coin proofs. They came in a plastic capsule, and were boxed.
  20. Nice Pennies Jerry. Good purchases. I know what you are talking about with U.S. Slabs. I sent a 1922/27 penny in with the sale ticket, and it came back as a 1922! You can lead them to water, but you can't make them drink! Ha,Ha!
  21. Welcome Coinery, from across the pond. Look forward to your Penny posts.
  22. The slightly concave downward stroke on the 3 is one of the identifiers, with the middle of the 3 pointing above the end of the lower stroke is the other. Also a spike at the top lower extension is the third. From the picture shown, it seems to have all of those features.
  23. I got this Penny off of ebay...just because it looked so unusual. The seller said it had been cleaned, but the "N" and most of the "O" are missing. It doesn't look like it has been ground down, but I don't know how it would wear this way without some "extra" help! Any ideas?
  24. Nice Penny Brian, good detail!
