  1. I'm with Pete, I don't think it is a Gouby-X.
  2. Is that a forged coin, or just a changed date? The date appears to really stand out a having been "adjusted" !
  3. I guess I was the underbidder! Congratulations.
  4. Does anyone know what the 1861, 6 over 8 went for? Lot #2386.
  5. There is a blank order form on the website. Bring it up on your PC, fill in the blanks for the coins you want to bid on, and email the form to London (Cemra Cetin). She will send you an acknowledgement in a day or two. You can also print out the blank form, fill it in with a pen, and mail the form to them.
  6. Good one Paulus, The Half Penny (LT) is much scarcer than the Penny (LT).
  7. The coverage for ebayers with less than 50 feedback rating is $250.00 (minus the $25.00 deductable). Something you should consider when accepting bids from low feedback bidders!
  8. I have a coin inventory program, and there is a entry slot for both the purchase price paid for the coin, and the retail coin value. I use the CCGB as a price guide, because I think it is closer to what a coin is really worth in the market. I also use the CCGB book when I go to coin shows, so I am comparing the value of the coins I am looking to purchase, using the same book I valuate coin with in my coin program.
  9. Pete, They are only slightly scarcer than the standard 1837, but both of the 1837 types together only have a combined mintage of 349,400, so neither are common.
  10. Colin, Send it back, with documentation of what a real Mule looks like, and they will probably re-slab it.
  11. Here is my contribution to the Half Penny Thread!
  12. How about this one too Colin!
  13. I would say it was a detecting find, except that the un-etched areas are too nice to have been under the earth. It must have somehow been unknowingly exposed to moisture, or some chemical while being stored. .
  14. The 3k offer...That is where two fools met! One for offering, and one for not accepting the offer!
  15. David, Here is another ugly one! This coin (1875-H Penny) had to be uncirculated when it was lost out of someone's pocket!
  16. Prax, I just looked at my two "Dot" coins and 3 non dot 1897's, and didn't find any cracks or globs like you show near the border teeth, on any of them.
  17. Here you go Ian... http://www.amazon.com/Neon-MG21011-Illuminated-Magnifier-Magnifying/dp/B00X7IUHV4/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1455992250&sr=8-13&keywords=illuminated+loupe+40x
  18. I have a spare loupe that has a built in light. I do not use it as a general rule, where there is adequate lighting, but once in a while it is really handy to have it available at coin shows, flea markets, etc where lighting is a issue. The loupe is a 40x. so you cannot see a whole coin with it, it is too strong, but for looking for varieties, it is great.
  19. Microsoft really shot itself in the foot with its upgrades, starting with Vista! I am using windows 7...it is not bad, but I have heard 10 is a nightmare!
  20. Coin is SOLD!.......
  21. He still is selling, but seldom has anything of interest for me. He used to carry some pretty good stuff, but not so much anymore. I haven't purchased anything off of him in years.
