  1. Here is one of the examples.....
  2. I have two of them, both UNC, and both are N/Z. I have 10 others that are not tilted R.....
  3. The green goo caused by coin folders, and soft poly coin folders can be cleaned with Carbon Tet (Tetracloride), if you can find it. You don't have to rub, just dip it in the liquid and slush it around some, then rinse it off. Die Makers used to use it to clean tools. I don't know how hard it is find in the open market. There is a coin company in Sidney, Ohio that markets it under a different name, but it is really just Carbon Tet.
  4. Happy Birthday, Many Happy Returns of the Day!
  5. Alfnail is correct... "It is believed that coins are often struck using dies from a previous year, but without altering the date. Similar to your 1869/1868 example" In Michael Gouby's Study "The British Bronze Coinage, 4th Ed." He states that the actual coinage of 1869 Pennies is more likely around 430,080, since the 1868 Pennies were continued to be minted into the 1869 year. The 1869 mintage reported by the Royal Mint is 2,580,480......
  6. Thanks Bernie, I see what you are looking at now. I hope it is the real thing....great find! :-)
  7. What do you see in that coin Bernie? Am I missing something?
  8. I like this coin much better than the one on Colin Cooke's site. The coloring on this one is much better, and the other one has staining/diirt that takes away from the coin's apprearence. CC's has a slightly better Reverse though, though not by that much. Both are desirable coins.
  9. It is not like the 1922. It has the dot halfway down, in the middle of the trident tine.
  10. And the Obverse is every bit as good as the Reverse...nice pick! You are right about CGS not being recognized as a authority on grading, in fact if you are selling a coin at Heritage, and it is in a CGS slab, they require you to have it regraded by either NGC, PCGS, or ANACS, before accepting it for sale!
  11. And the Obverse is every bit as good as the Reverse...nice pick!
  12. Nice coin Paulus, what year is it?
  13. Dual Citizenship, Iranian, and German........
  14. I was thinking of you Dave, when I saw this on USA TV. Your city is now a member of a club that no one wants to join. Sorry to hear about it.
  15. Here you go Azda, the new Gull Wing...$495,000!
  16. What about a gas ML350 without the 4-Matic? They should be reasonable in Germany.
  17. I think Semra does missionary work in other countries, and may have left CGS to do it full time. I don't know though, just a thought. If that is so, CGS may be interviewing people to fill the slot, and may reopen after that is accomplished. IMHO!
  18. Restaurants do the same thing..."Closed for remodeling". Then they never reopen!
  19. Sorry to be late to the Party! Happy Birthday John...go Wales!
  20. Nice Pennies, I especially like the F-14. Thanks for posting.
  21. File wouldn't open Michael......
  22. David, I think you are right! Also it looks to me like the top 9 is closed, and the bottom 9 is open.
  23. Not me! I was wanting to auction some coins there a couple of years ago , and Michael Freeman suggested I should talk to Steve directly about including my coins in a upcoming auction. I sent a 2 paragraph note to Steve, personally, and received a one sentence reply from Semra Ceten, lacking any real detail about what I was asking. Instead I sent the coins to Heritage, though I thought I would have a better audience for the coins at London.
  24. Give me one of whatever he is drinking!
  25. I remember the fight with Sonny Liston. Liston was a big bad hombre (he had man handled Patterson twice before) that everyone though would kill Ali (then Cassus Clay), only to see Ali beat the life out of Liston. Liston just sat on his stool when the next round started, and would leave. He had had enough! I couldn't believe, at the time that Ali had beaten Liston.
