  1. Best get the petrol out first and make sure they're toned and get an even bigger premium
  2. Personally i Hope that those numpties that buy These artificially toned coins get their cumuppance and in 10 years or so their coins deteriorate in front if theur very eyes. Are these peiple dumb enough (which they obviously are) to actually believe that their coins Tone naturally like that? Our American Friends on this Forum are obviously excluded from my ramblings as you are aware that this cannot possibly happen to the millions of toned Coins that are being Sold in the US of A, but why theae huge premiums for a Bit of colour is beyond me. Gimme a felt tip pen and a Morgan Dollar and i'll make a nice Rainbow coloured coin to.....
  3. I'd say Fair/NF
  4. If you read his ebay text he says " Wörthy of a PREMIUM bid" so now you know why the americans dip them in petrol/Paraffin or whatever. Wonder what the long term effects of this practise is plus sitting behind a slab.

  7. Well i have to say Mike, i've never heard of any auction house doing that before. Obviously trying to encourage a bidding war before they go to the floor
  8. They only inform the winning bidders Mile, and that would come in the bill form. If they had to inform every underbidder to it would take them a month of sundays to complete the task.
  9. George III 60 years. Lizabeth I 45 years, so not quite
  10. This all brings a very good question. I've been thinking recently, when will she step down, My conclusion is she wants to beat Victoria as longest serving Monarch. Anyone else?
  11. I'm going to be brutally honest here and say NONE. I read your post that you have limited funds, so why not save the 66 quid, add to it and wait for a better example to come along?
  12. 13.5% fees if its paid by Paypal, they take 3.5% to
  13. I've never used a scanner to image coins, always a camera. You'll find my plate sized results dotted about the coin aquisition of the week thread. The Martin Platt images on Tony Claytons site are i'm sure camera work
  14. No problem! PM me your details and I will pop it in the post tomorrow for you, be sure to let me know what it is Put it on ebay USA and maybe get a few pennies for another coin that you'd like...
  15. There is also ugly toned and artifically toned coins, so do beware. Generic Lads link seems to be an artifically toned coin
  16. You forgot the other 3 zeros on that £50 sum Peter
  17. Why you think the Grade is Fine is beyond me. I'd go better than Paulis and say NEF, maybe even EF iny humble opinion. A nice coin indeed if you got it for Fine money. Well done.
  18. Idiots with lots of cash obviously. Coming from Beverly hills i'd say both
  19. P.s, if buying from America or from a historic overgrader seller on eBay, ALWAYS take their grading with a large pinch of salt
