Unfortunately, polished coins are just that.................shite, in order to try and create more money than the coin is worth. If it's toned, so what, leave it be, you might be doing more harm than good in the long run. Peck, you do surprise me.
So the headline from the BBC is MI6 death: Gareth Williams 'probably' killed unlawfully..................this obviously regards the MI6 agent who was murdered and found in a bag in his own flat My own headline to the BBC would read as follows............ NO SHIT SHERLOCK..............Disnae tak a rocket scientist tae work that oot eh..............Geezus, some people are numpties, honestly

Perhaps because they couldn't be sure whether the house was empty of other occupants and with the possibility of a weapon inside surprise was the best tactic. John will be better placed to answer. From what Chris wrote a few posts up, the were actually looking for a gun in the house, not someone with a gun inside the house, if that was the case, it would be an armed siege surely?. So i'm still a bit perplexed as to why the needed to do the door.
That's Tayside Clive, different legislation North of the border. English Forces will normally only pay where they have made an error eg wrong house, wrong door, did not attempt to contact keyholder etc etc. What i don't get though is, if the keyholder was already in custody of his own free will, why was there the need to smash the door down?
The gothic crown is a difficult one as no one seems to know why they are fake. Perhaps weight is the only logical way to Tell? Northumberland seems to be the most common at the minute but with the high number of gothics circulating, these could come a close 2nd
That's what I thought .... It was graded as a forgery by CGS and I am awaiting a refund, fingers crossed! At least now you have peace of mind, see how this forum works. And now you have the stisfaction of going back to the seller AND auction house and kicking some arse.....Good result for you and those who actually spotted it. Well done the forum. If in doubt, it always pays to ask questions first rather than lose later....Well done people.
