  1. Oh, it all helps at the moment, believe me! Just managed to get a tenant into the Gillingham house as of yesterday. It was only empty for 15 months. I know what you mean, trade is veeerrrryyyyy slllllooooowwwwww at the moment. I'm even thinking about selling the kids for medical experimentation
  2. The paypal option went through no problem Chris. You can keep the money as a belated birthday pressie!!!!
  3. top intelligence, John. I'm just starting to keep an eye on these in anticipation that they will soon be, just, in my league, so that's just the sort of thing I need to know. I wouldn't have bought one from China anyway, it goes without saying! First 34 I have seen Declan. Be particularly wary of 28's and 33's as I have seen/handled 2 each of these fakes.
  4. A clear fake. The border teeth are almost double cut showing in the rim and the field and there is a clear raised dot above the B of BRITT (best indicators of all are the raised dots on Wreath fakes).
  5. G'day sport. It would have to be GB milled, anything else just isn't cricket! Sorry MRD, I have a couple of good customers/friends in Aus and can't help ribbing about your current crop of cricketers Ask what you want, when you want and you will always get an honest answer on here, sometimes it will even be the right one! John.
  6. It is a best guess when looking at pictures and sometimes even with the coin in hand. Experience plays a large part on some denominations/monarchs (early George V for example has been well documented on here). Wishy washy arse covering descriptions are best avoided full stop. Always try to buy a fully struck example wherever possible, but be prepared to pay a premium for it!
  7. Bought mine off John (argentumandcoins) a bit since If memory serves David it sold for a little less than £3k, give or take £2990 less wasn't it?
  8. It got me wondering what sort of merchant banker would stand checking the dates of his change in a nightclub full of totty? I used to be that intent on drink fuelled minge hunts I didn't even check if the pirate serving the drinks had pocketed half of my wad...... It did remind me of the Charles I shilling I have on my website that the King was holding at the time his head was chopped off though. It is totally authentic and I have known it since 2008 or maybe 2007. It is without doubt the one that he was holding because it only has his head on and not his body. I thought about offering it for sale via a London saleroom where it would achieve £50k plus and then I thought "sod it, I'll put it on ebay for a couple of grand to give Joe Bloggs a chance at it" Altogether now, after 3; 1, 2, 3 WHAT A TWAT!
  9. Can't be much more than 2 hours drive from your place. Straight up the A1 to the 614 roundabout, cut across to the M1 at jcn 31 and you are nearly there. Yes, but you still eat missionaries up there. My passport is out of date and it is too near the land of ginger jocks (sorry Dave) Divvn't neen o ye southern softees come up here cos we'll drink yer women and shag yer beer.
  10. It is some ancient law that was never repealed about being found within the walls of Chester City isn't it? I think it also stipulates that they must be shot using a bow and arrow.
  11. Neither an accurate nor an honest description. Still some mugs who see the word "gold" and trip over their brain cell in a rush to reach their wallet though (yes, I know I used cell in the singular)
  12. I cannot see much wrong with it (other than the obvious cleaning). I cannot give a cast iron assurance it is genuine without handling it. Grade would be VF or slightly better.
  13. Somerset £1 notes with an AT prefix are worth not much more than face value. The close serial numbers you refer to confuses me a little. Are you refering to the partial numbering on the far right edge? If so that has nothing to do with the serial numbers and is more likely a number on the security paper sheets used to print the notes on. Unusual but would not add significantly to the value.
  14. Thanks Steve, Well thats the bulk collection of pennies I had well and truly sorted now! No other varieties to be had, just one question, why the hell do I keep looking? :P Regards Why is the sun hot? Water wet? The Pope a Catholic? Do you not watch "The Borgias" Peck?
  15. Yes, it's worth something. How much depends on how and where you will be selling it. Don't book your Vegas trip on the strength of it though.
  16. Correct. It is a silver Denarius of the Emperor Trajan.
  17. Without diving into reference books they all look to be Indian States stuff, I don't deal in it but there are one or two on here who collect it.
  18. Looks okay to me (as far as I can tell from photographs). Grade around GVF with various edge knocks and contact marks. The $64000 question, how much did you have to pay and what came in the lot?
  19. There are multiple variations on date width for the early bun heads Dan. Unfortunately they are all of the same value. The only rarities on date in 1862 is the smaller numerals type or the 8 over 6 type.
  20. I've deleted it for you Nicholas. Feel free to repost it if you still want to meet Russian brides. Richard Are they cheaper to run and less mental than my British one?
  21. I sell these copper large sized ones for £70-£90 if cased, so you made a steal. The 1926 halfcrown looks a very nice example of a reasonably difficult to get coin (in high grades that is).
  22. I emailed the seller a couple of pertinent questions and received less than adequate answers so decided the risk far outweighed the returns, although in the end if the coin is right somebody just stole it.
  23. No problem. The 1818 is the scarcest and the 1695 is better than most for wear, the problem is that both appear to have been polished/cleaned in the past. A nice gun-metal 1818 would have been £150ish on it's own. The other 3 are all common and only worth anything above scrap in top grade.
