  3. yea they are not that rare, but are interesting. I actually bought something in japan in an antiques shop, that is used as something (coins tied together with some stip of paper dangling down) and it was interesting in the fact it had coins dating from the 1100s on up to the 1760's wave cash the 1100's 10 cash is large as well, but mainly worth.. not a lot. I also own one of the 50 cash for size, its about the size of the cartwheel twopence whats great about Chinese coins are you can get really old coins.. for next to nothing.
  4. i thought the changes to portcullis were 1992 due to changes in metal. copper ones are rougher to touch
  5. found this 1907 in a bunch of pennies, 7 looks off.
  6. of course not, most times the price flies up anyway when people notice. you should do your research, the B over R halfpenny i bought a while back (remember that?) for a tenner, was listed at the same time that other example was on ebay, and listed as such, so knew exactly what it was.
  7. got this for £8.80 a few weeks back.
  8. you can also contact them directly for valuations. been a good while since i have been on there and had a good browse
  9. i just saw a damaged 2015 £1. sold for £8.06 earlier
  10. this is something i was looking for as well, just to have a look more at the varieties the montagu and Bramah books I need really. and also silver was minted in different places, not just the mint. Peck is a decent source of the basics. finding a book on the politics of the mint itself would be difficult, only ever seen a book regarding such things for medieval coinage. the sources must exist, because the information in these books must have come from somewhere. coincraft 2000? whats this got?
  11. dont forget the small/large rose on the shilling
  12. everything in the Vatican costs a fortune coin set costs make royal mint look like Neto
  13. he could always send us his signature as well here is mine.
  14. some german medals
  15. not as annoying as ebay suddenly changing all the drop down box options down
  16. William III copper errors.. people pay more for W+M washers then low grade errors.
  17. ok my 10p is the old effigy
  18. i have a 2015 10p.. not really compared effigy though
  19. that is exactly what it is, frederic henri de nassau odd how its 1642/0 when there was a 1642... not sure on value, bog standard one in a similar grade for 1641 is around a tenner value. so not a fake, but nice little coins
  20. I find the spelling errors on William III easier to spot I find it harder to find one without spelling errors. where are you looking? I only find ones WITHOUT spelling errors, and people bidding £5-6+ on W&M washers and yea die cracks.. I have used those a few times to find out a variety or die combination.
  21. rare and cheap not done me badly so far
