£100 coin.. we dont even have a £100 note even £50 notes cause mass panic

wasn't this because people were cheating the system, was reports of someone stuck with thousands of pounds of commemoratives they were buying on credit card for rewards and whatever, then paying it off by cashing in the coins.

I think its more you can't see that on worn examples or with the naked eye. the problem with overlays is when different dies are used, I have actually successfully used the technique for 1772/1 halfpenny, as i happened across the 1771 with the date placement that matches.

normal 1 seems to have a flatter O in some cases in OMN

is there not a slightly flatter O in the Gouby X?

ahh that thing... I thought it wasn't.. then squinted at it made it look it.. it isn't though, I was tempted to buy it.. but not at 20+ quid. especially as i spend a fair bit on some early milled varieties recently

Halfpennies are the way to go.. always undervalued. as for bulk buys on ebay.. they seem to be going for a lot then what i deem the value of the coins, but its always worth having a look through bulks, sometimes the odd bargain is too be had, but that's getting rarer now.

yea.. those were just the little purchases, just had a look through a tin of old copper, and those were there. I had jotted down some dates on a piece of paper, and checked it.. had 1878 written on it.

these plus a F-VF 1899 penny and a low grade 1844 and a couple more badly worn 61's £4.50

very nice 1810 2 kopek Rarest Variety of 1731 kopeck, having 1 line between denga and date (most common being 2 and no line being rare)

I have a couple of 1721/0 myself. still after the . date one. 1696 with farthing Ns 7 over 6? and on the subject of 1721/0 here is a 1722/1 i have had a while

yea they are not that rare, but are interesting. I actually bought something in japan in an antiques shop, that is used as something (coins tied together with some stip of paper dangling down) and it was interesting in the fact it had coins dating from the 1100s on up to the 1760's wave cash the 1100's 10 cash is large as well, but mainly worth.. not a lot. I also own one of the 50 cash for size, its about the size of the cartwheel twopence whats great about Chinese coins are you can get really old coins.. for next to nothing.
