  1. no its when I try and start the process, that's the message.
  2. super, I buy items from ebay buyers and it doesn't turn up, instead of the usual. I get this You purchased this item as a PayPal guest user and will need to contact PayPal directly by going through their resolution centre. since when has this been a thing. last time I checked i was using my paypal account I have always used, as well.
  3. there is also talk of a 1991 irish small 5p in existance
  4. ok.. I bought a load a few weeks back I need to get through NICOLE.. a London penny RENAUD? Halfgroat. oh and it gets harder.. I have gone through the Scottish quarter cuts yet :P, might be the odd english one in there.
  5. the 1 is fainter on mine, and doesn't have that spike
  6. yes, I have it, and can see the exact same thing, I'll upload pictures later.
  7. it is clearer on the ebay one, there is a shape that resembles a 1 just above the middle tooth under the 2. look there in zoomed.
  8. except I have it in hand, there is something there, but faint.
  9. oh just the underlying 1 under the 2 maybe
  10. I had already made my punt http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232003655672?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  11. what it is, is a knackered die, look at the crack across the neck, to me the letters look underlying, rather then double struck. if you zoom in you can see doubles on the first Letter in GEOR, the R and X in REX, to me the consistency isn't good enough for double, it might well be doubled as well, but there is a clear 8 over another 8, as for the 9, its over another 9 if anything.
  12. perhaps those letters are recut?
  13. isn't 1828 sixpence something like 16k minted
  14. to the eye its barely noticeable I have to angle it to see the tell tale bumps. 1967 it seems to be rarest as well.
  15. so no edit button.. but yea had a look at some at the dealers, and found possible examples in 1965 66 and 67 as well.
  16. well it wasn't the Metal change, that was 1961.
  17. would this not be the flow of metal from the striking as well, are the numbers slightly thicker?
  18. from the pictures of the 1909 1 to tooth, the rim/teeth seem to be longer anyway, and there are 2 other methods of finding it, (hand holding trident, and trident pointing)
  19. looks like a recut R. on a die crack? you do see a bump sometimes on the R in 1862 obverse halfpenny, but this is an earlier date, and not the same bump.
  20. only date width listed in groom is 1912 Halfpenny
  21. 1909 1 to tooth I have found is rarer then the open 3 1903
  22. Gouby X is rare enough for me not to find/get one for peanuts I
  23. and the fact the crown is more central on the picture rather then the coin
