  5. not the worst design in the world
  6. couple i got for not much pence a while back. narrow date me thinks, 1889 and a 3 over 2
  7. I thought they were phasing those things out.
  8. so that is where I left those....
  9. they are not getting put into circulation, you have to buy them, like you used to have to with £2 coins, they existed before 1997, I actually obtained one from an aunt who was given the useless coinage in charity stuff, (1989 claim of rights) before 1997... but only that way, because they are not issued in a way that promotes them as Legal tender.
  10. A lot of places don't take £50 notes either
  11. and speaking of paypal, they have a limit of £1,800 a year transfer on free accounts
  12. something more unusual.
  13. yes because we are getting a new head design. bet the mint has goofed up and made a mule again and passed it off as something else
  14. 1820 over 19?
  15. same denomination, but Riga (Livonia) dated 1621 1811 2 kopek
  16. yea I found a few empire ones for 10p that are scarce at my dealers. I find the weimar ones harder to find in decent numbers and a few news, for not very much 1731 denga over strike, and the eagle is doing a P 1531 dated Schilling from Danzig
  17. not found any exact figures for each, but there were over 8000 coins bit of info about what was found http://www.sedwickcoins.com/treasureauction10/shipwreckhoards2.htm and as it says there, the best stuff would be in those auction catalogues.
  18. this is the best one i managed to find on ebay, Half crown of Charles II, so there is a base for you. I would imagine there to be some documentation on the number of each denomination found, and having a quick look about the wreck find itself, that was 1967 and it contained Gold as well as silver, even pieces of 8. so basically anything from sixpences up from any date from milled I would Imagine, as well as trade currency.
  19. there probably were good coins in the wreck, given they come up fairly often, and showing that, I see a fair few with the same sticker in hand written pen on the flaps. the problem is the grade they ended up in being in the sea usually find shillings from the wreck though, top one is a Norwich
  20. problem is, you do early milled copper, if you want to get a good range which includes Charles II and William III, you have the annoying part, which is the tin. you could do them separate, but then you have such a short period for William III, then you have another problem... 1694 and a short date range and peck is still useful for this
  21. Variates of these? there is something... first O in CAROLO? the B's look like that, not seen many RRITANNIA, but given the R has a tail.
