Looks like an expensive weekend & takeaways become boring

Many never make it out of there plush boxes whereas 3ds circulated heavily. My collection is nice back to 1900 then it became quite difficult getting Vickies in good condition.

Sometimes you get adjustment marks when the mint has used too much silver.I like history like this.The big chunky French coins 17/18 C springs to mind often scratched to remove surplus silver. The guy/gal who thought up the banknote did a fine job.Not many of those clipped. About **** years ago I did find half a fiver...my dad took it and gave me £2 10/- We feasted on Woodpecker Cider for weeks. It also reminds me of a local pub when the landlady would serve the oldest lad with 10 pints we must of been early teens. Jumpers for goal posts etc

Just ordered a 16lb capon.....bloody big chicken for Xmas.It is now a Peter day and Mr Whiskey has just knocked on the door. Mrs Peter isn't due back until 6pm....Oh dear.

(Pecks 2nd edition in 1970) I know Colin Cooke was working on a new farthing publication before his untimely death. Colin Goode (aboutfarthings)is working on a farthing publication but Peck's work is still the bible and most complete work on all cu denominations.

There was a shortage of circulating currency so traders minted their own tokens. At the same time the majority of copper coins were counterfeit.Especially in Scotland.

Tokens fit into my collection. They grade like coins and are collectable in their own right.

Spink prices are EF £1450 UNC £2850 So London Coins looks like the way to go. You could put a reserve on it. Good luck

That isn't too bad for a silver coin. I tend to start my auctions at 99p and 95% reach a decent level.

Most generous Garrett. A true thoughtful gent. One tip to preserve you coin books is a trip to Wickes where they use a heavy gauge polythene bags/sacks for their sand etc. Perfect for covering your books.

Exergue is the date under Britannia There is also a type with the date in the legend.

Leave it slabbed. My advice only.The slabbing would cost £25+ A CGS 60 on a common coin is worth putting on the back burner.
