A copy of this sold on eBay today. I missed out yet again, by bidding too low then not being around at the auction end. If anyone has a spare copy for sale, let me know?

I've been looking forever.Good luck.I missed that one today. :(

I bid on that one today, but I do already have a copy.

It was sitting at a fiver, so I thought £45 would be bound to get it. I keep underestimating eBay bidding!

I paid £100 for the only copy I could find last year!

Sorry I sold my spare copy 20 years ago for £60

Clearly someone got a bargain with the eBay copy for £46! Anyway, I've managed to locate a copy, but at a more hefty £120 (inc. carriage) so I'm happy.

To find a seller, I entered the author and title into the search dialog box on the website bookfinder.com. If you want this book, give this method a try. Perhaps you'll be as lucky as I was. (Assuming that my order is successful!)

John (Chingford) sent me a spare copy a couple of years ago.

A nice read.

Just managed to get one for £75 (best offer on e bay). Been trying to get one for several years, on and off.

After I'd stumbled across mine, quite by chance as it happened, I did some extensive googling (out of curiosity) and discovered that there are 4 more specimens going:-

From Amazon:-

£343.90 - USA

£346.71 - UK

From other sources:-

£99.99 - Abe Books (UK) (ex library)

$295.00 - USA

Given that they're obviously in demand, this might be an additional opportunity for someone else, if they haven't got one. Clearly very expensive, although the ABE books one seems a decent enough offer.

Hi Mike,

Wish I had known you wanted one.

I have a spare copy in better condition than the one which was on ebay which I could have let you have for not much more.

Looking for £100 inc. postage for mine, but would have done for a little less for you

Thanks, Ian. Yours is certainly less tatty than the one I've bought.

Bramah certainly was an interesting and unusual character, in the best possible senses of those words. Rare too, in that he wrote both fiction and non fiction. Not a combination you find very often in a writer. The literary equivalent of ambidexterity.

I must catch up on Kai Lung and Max Carrados at some point........

Wow. I never knew he'd been a writer of Chinese fiction, for which he was apparently better known.

Much like many Ebay sellers.................

I am pleased to award you 'Blakeyboy's Line of the Month'.

Not bad, seeing it's only just the 16th....
